Can I get a Whoop-Whoop?? Sunshine on Water....

Hi, all!

It's Friday again!  Time to link up and show us what you've been working on!! I'm really excited to see what everyone's been doing, since my week was shortened and not extremely productive....  But I did manage to finish this....

The front...

...and the back!

I've named this quilt Sunshine on Water.  This is the first of two quilts I'm making for the Hands2Help challenge.  I used Amy Ellis' pattern from her book, Modern Basics, and the beautiful fabrics sent to me by my partner, Cindy.  Isn't it pretty?  Sorry about the dark pics - somehow my camera setting got switched to something obscure - I don't even know what it means, but it gave me really really dark pictures!  Thank heavens for on-line editing!!

So that's my finish for this week - I had hoped to finish the second H2H quilt, too, but having to have my Juki repaired slowed things down a little bit.  I will say, though, that I found a repairman who came out to my house and worked on not only my Juki but also my featherweight - and both run great now!!  The featherweight works better now than I ever remember it running - plus he showed me a few little tricks to keep it running well.  It seems there's a trick to putting the sole plate back on - and if you don't do it right, your bobbin won't work........  Who knew?

OK - so now it's time for you to link up!  Show us what you've been working on this week, and be sure to check in with some (or all) of the linkers and give 'em a whoop whoop!!

Later!

Sarah

  5. I like the back just as much as the front of your quilt -- great pattern. Amy is a very talented designer and personality. It is awesome that you have someone who comes to your home to fix machines. "House Calls" -- Love it.

  7. What a gorgeous quilt, Sarah! I'd be running in circles like Lilli to celebrate that!

A sewing machine repair guy that makes house calls? That's awesome! And I learned that trick about the sole plate cover when I first got my Singer 401. The folks on the Yahoo vintage Singer board helped me figure out what was wrong.

  11. I love your quilt... kind of traditional on one side and abstract on the other. Gives the owner a way to express themselves, too. Whoop Whoop! And thanks for the chance to link up
