Make-A-List Monday - Will I Find Time To Sew?

Hi, all!

Well, it was a busy week, and a busier weekend - I hope all of you had a wonderful and joyous Mother's Day!  My weekend was full of sewing with friends, graduation parties, church, lunch with my daughter and her whole crew, and a good bit of quilting.  A good time was had by all!

Enough of that, though - let's see how I did on last week's list...

1.  Write a blog post for the Piece*Love*Quilt blog.
I'm working on it - the post I thought I would write for the PLQ blog turned out to be what I will be writing for the Blogger's Quilt Festival.  It's not an easy post to write and the other fell by the wayside a bit.

2.  Learn to use EazyDraw!
Done - or at least enough to write the tutorial for the For Pinks Sakes Blog Hop!

3.  Finish and publish the first blog hop post.
(This coming Saturday 5/10 - be sure to check it out!)
Done!  If you missed it, you can still catch it here...

4.  Keep working on the block for the second blog hop.
(Details to come soon, when I get the go-ahead.)
Yes, I've been asked to represent the state of Tennessee (on May 28th) in the upcoming AMB Blog Hop!  You can read more about the hop here.  The block is coming along slowly but surely, the tutorial a bit more slowly….

5.  Quilt the kid-inspired quilt for the Charis clinic at church.
Done!  Isn't this adorable?  I'll probably post more about this on Friday!

6.  Make a back for and quilt the Celtic Solstice quilt.
Done!  I really love this quilt!

7.  Make a baby quilt for a friend.
I didn't get to this one, unfortunately...

8.  Make a back for Nathanael's Ladder.
…or this one.  Hopefully this week!

9.  Keep up with ministry needs as they arise.
Done! I pieced and quilted this nautical quilt for a gentleman with cancer, and quilted young Callie's quilt top for an older woman with cancer.

I also quilted a top to give as a graduation gift -
pics later after it is received!!

And I quilted these four children's quilts that will probably be sent to New Jersey for Hurricane Sandy survivors in October

And now, what's on the schedule for this week?  I'm not sure how much I'll be able to get done this week, because it's really busy with things other than quilting - one or two things every day this week! But here's what I hope to get done

1.  Finish a beautiful purple ministry quilt pieced by Marie.

2.  Mail off prizes, gifts and blocks!

3.  Write my Blogger's Quilt Festival post.

4.  Finish the block for the AMB Blog Hop.

5.  Start on the tutorial for that block.

6.  Make a back for Nathanael's Ladder.

7.  Make a baby quilt for a friend.

8.  Keep up with any ministry needs that arise.

So that's what my plan for the week looks like, in between babysitting, picking up Lilli from school, meetings, hair appointments, and sewing with friends!  Whew!  Like I said, I may not get all of this done - but it's something to shoot for.  At least I won't be bored!!

And now the question is - - - what are you working on this week?

Hugs!

Sarah

  1. You are always so busy - wish I lived next door to lend a hand. I am doing some string blocks to clean out scrap basket - mindless sewing before I have to tackle a project that will require serious concentration.

  7. Your to-do list is longer than the one I have at work--and, yes, I work full time! How do you manage it? I'd love to be able to quilt as much as you do.

I'm visiting from the AMB blog and look forward to your license plate debut. If it's anything as amazing as the quilts on this post, it will be well worth the wait!
