Make-A-List Monday - Spring Has Sprung!!

Hi, all!

It's Monday, it's warm and spring-like - life is good!  I love spring - the daffodils start sprouting all over the yard, the trees start to green out again, and it's warm enough to sit outside!  Now if I could only figure out how to set up a sewing machine out there......

I had a busy week last week, and made some good headway on the week's list.  Let's see how it went!

1.  Complete the 6th Nifty Nines quilt top.
2.  Write the tutorial for the 6th Nifty Nines quilt top.
Done!  I love this quilt so much - I'm so glad I had time to quilt it as well as finish the top!  I used Christina Cameli's "wild quilting" technique.  You can read and see more about it here.

3.  Complete the preparations for the scrap challenge.
Done!  If you missed it, you should check out the "full and complete" reveal of my scrap situation - it will probably make you feel better about your own!  I hope you'll join in the challenge with me - you can set your own goals to achieve whatever your needs are in dealing with your own scrap situation!  The linky party for your first month's goal stays open until March 15th...

4.  Finish the scrappy table runner.
Done!!!  I am so happy with the way this turned out - it looks gorgeous and spring-y and perfect for Easter!  And made completely from scraps and stash, it's also another notch in my Sew My Stash 2016 belt!

5.  Begin the final preparations for the Hands2Help Challenge.
In progress.  It's hard to believe that this year's Challenge starts this coming Sunday!  Are you ready???

6.  Keep up with any quilt ministry needs that come up.
It was a very quiet week - we only gave away one this week.  This beautiful quilt went to a woman who just had a double total knee replacement.  It was requested by a woman who received a quilt when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She said that she knew how much hers meant to her, and wanted to give her friend that same comfort!

So last week's list went great - everything accomplished!  This promises to be a busy week, too, so let's see what's on the list....

1.  Work on a bow tie scrap quilt from the green scrap tub.

2.  Quilt the red and blue ministry quilt.

3.  Make some string blocks from the green scrap tub.

4.  Write several estimates for commission jobs.

5.  Write the next post for the "I May Have A Scrap Problem" series.

6.  Write the first post for this year's Hands2Help Charity Quilt Challenge!

7.  Do some major re-arranging in the quilt room at church to keep from having tables in the hall 24/7 (the fire marshall is unhappy!)

8.  Keep up with any needs that come up for the quilt ministry.

Definitely more than enough to keep me busy this week - but busy is good, right?  I'm hoping you'll pop back in often - there's a lot going on here right now!!

And now, the question is - - - what are YOU working on this week?

Hugs!

Sarah

  1. I will be glad if my eye heals well enough to get back to piecing and quilting next week - having eye surgery and recovery from it is stifling to a quilter -- I have managed to applique some circles for quilty 365 but that is about it

  4. The newest 9's is just gorgeous! Just a beautiful job in quilting this one - you need to enter a couple of shows. As always, you do such a terrific job at tackling your lists. I'm ready for H2H - bring it on.

  6. I don't know how you stay so organized with your lists and seem to accomplish all your goals. I am ready for H2H to start. This is always a fun time for a good cause.

  7. Hand cranks are great for sewing outside. No need for electricity.
