Make-a-List Monday - Moving Right Along!

Hi, all!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!  We did - lots of fun with the kiddos, as we not only did the Easter basket thing, we celebrated Emmy's sixth birthday (which is actually tomorrow, but we had the whole family together already!)  It's hard to believe that little girl is already six, but it's a lot of fun watching her grow up!

It was a super busy week, pulling together Easter baskets and birthday gifts, and taking the dogs to the vet for their annual shots - but I did manage to make a good dent in my list.  Here's how it went...

1.  Finish the scrappy top.
Done!  I am so in love with this quilt top... now to find the perfect backing for it!

2.  Start deconstructing the turtle blocks.
I'm working on this one.  Unfortunately, they were sewn together with heavy thread and tiny stitches!  This is going to take a while...

3.  Cut out a commission quilt.
Done!  I managed to get this all cut out today, and I can't wait to get started piecing it!

4.  Take pictures of all the H2h giveaway items and write the blog post for Sunday.
Done!  If you didn't see all the great giveaway items we've got this year, you ought to check it out!

5.  Finish a "guy" quilt for the quilt ministry.
Done!  This quilt is going to a man dealing with serious health issues...

6.  Pick out a vacation project.
I haven't finalized my choices yet, but I think I'll be taking my April  Scrap Attack project with me for sure - trimming up all my bonus HSTs and making some projects with them!  I've already started on the trimming...

...and I found some cool containers in the Target Dollar Spot ($5 each) to keep the next ones up for trimming in!  These two jars didn't even hold all of them... do you think I have a scrap problem?

7.  Mail the triangle baby quilt to my niece!
Done!  She should have received it today.

8.  Keep up with any quilt ministry needs that come up.
Done!  We did give a few away this week...

This quilt went to a woman who is recovering from a stroke.  We had a quilt on hand that was perfect for her - because her name is Rose!  This quilt is made of lots of rose-colored rose prints.

This quilt went to a gentleman dealing with cancer.

And these two quilts went to two new babies - a boy and a girl!

I also finally managed to get the background fabric for the t-shirt commission quilt I was working on and finished it this week!  I'm glad to have this off my plate before vacation...

So not a bad week at all!  And here's what I'm planning on working on this week...

1.  Piece the new commission quilt.

2.  Finish this Sunday's blogpost.

3.  Keep trimming those bonus HSTs!

4.  Determine my vacation projects.

5.  Keep deconstructing the turtle blocks.

6.  Deliver the t-shirt quilt.

7.  Keep up with any quilt ministry needs that come up.

I'm keeping the list short and sweet this week, because I really need to finish that commission quilt before I leave for vacation in ten days.  And here's hoping that the weather in Florida will be better than it is here - tomorrow it's going to be 78, but on Saturday it may SNOW!  Is it just me, or is there something seriously wrong with this picture?

So now, the question is - - - what are YOU working on this week?

Hugs!

Sarah

  7. Wow, your scrappy top full o' squares looks so great! And to think those were all willy-nilly in tubs just a few months ago :)

I'm getting ready to make a backing for my latest top and maybe get started on quilting it. Woot!

  8. Isn't it funny how a few random squares look a little suspect when we put them together. Put a tidal wave of 'em together and magic happens! That quilt in your first picture is wonderful.

  9. Wow your list makes me think I am standing still. Ha I finished 3 quilts out of my stash fabrics and I hope to sort of keep the momentum going. Two of the quilts I made will go to Quilts for Kids local chapter. I slacked last year and have to get a few more done. Plus my fabric is overflowing. I think reading your post inspired me to get off the couch!! :)
