And I'm feeling inspired by the blue and yellow Quilt Ministry piece, Jacob's Ladder blocks, I think? That's what I want to do with some pretty butterfly fabrics donated to Covered in Love.Louisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06306854459459257368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1378425196583923775.post-45153816889346197802017-11-14T10:44:40.689-06:002017-11-14T10:44:40.689-06:00If any of you have 6 to 8-year-old "tinkerer&...If any of you have 6 to 8-year-old "tinkerer" children, old small appliances are great toys. My son loved to disassemble appliances. Rather than have him disassemble my Cuisinart and Kitchen Aid, I cleaned out my cabinets, cut off all plugs, inspected each appliance for dangerous parts, gave him an inexpensive set of tools and "let him at it". I supervised his disassembly of the appliances/radios/electric shavers, etc. and he had a blast.....and it was educational. Please understand, he is how 30 years old and people are more cautious these days but this was an inexpensive gift which gave him hours of fun. I put all the 'places' in a bowl (actually a cute pumpkin) and we've been pulling one out when we have time to 'deep clean'. Then all 3 of us (me, husband, 11 yr old kid) do the task together. So far we've done: dressers, under the bed, bathroom vanity, science/school closet. We have a few more to go...hoping to finish by Thanksgiving!Kristihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06833251504109166543noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1378425196583923775.post-52048632023785940792017-11-13T21:56:38.128-06:002017-11-13T21:56:38.128-06:00The ministry quilts are always so lovely, and each...The ministry quilts are always so lovely, and each one suited to the recipient perfectly.
