Welcome to Day Six of the Country Girl Modern blog hop! I was so pleased and honored to be asked to be a part of this - and I'm very pleased to say it's a wonderful book!! Of course, if you are familiar with Jo Kramer's blog, Jo's Country Junction, you'd expect that. Jo and her daughter Kelli have been creating wonderful quilts together for many years and I've enjoyed seeing their progress along the way.
I particularly enjoyed Jo and Kelli's forward in the book. They shared tips for sewing with family. One of Kelli's tips? "Shop your mom's fabric and notions first." I think my daughter has that one down pat! And Jo advised, "Let them sew - you do the ripping." I was blessed to have a grandmother who knew this many many years ago. I think she must have stayed up late at night to repair my first sewing efforts so that I would have clothes that actually fit when I finished a project!
And oh, this book is chock full of great quilts! Eleven designs that give a modern twist to the traditional. I tend to lean more towards modern quilts, and these are a like a fresh breeze - modern in feel, but without as much negative space as some modern quilts.
It's so hard to choose a favorite - I love this quilt for its scrappiness and think it would make a great quilt design for the quilt ministry...
....and I adore the bohemian flair of this one! It's such a simple block to make this wonderful quilt.
And this one is a creative way to arrange a simple, traditional block - but what great results!
Don't you want a copy of this great book for your own? Come on - you know you do! And here's your chance - I have an extra copy to give away to one of you lucky readers! I'll make it easy - just leave a comment below to be entered. And to make it fun, tell me in your comment whether you would call yourself a modern quilter, or a traditional one!
And if you don't win, or just can't wait to get your hands on a copy, you can go to Jo and Kelli's store to purchase an autographed copy of your very own!!
As I said, this is a blog hop - so there are lots of other wonderful blogs to check out and see what they liked about the book! Here's the list:
March 7th Country Threads http://country-threads- chicken-scratch.com/
March 9th-Quiltville http://quiltville.blogspot. com/
March 10th-Patchwork Times http://www.patchworktimes.com/
Jo and Kelli will be having a grand prize giveaway on their blog on the last day of the hop, so be sure to check that out too!
Leave your comment below, and I'll announce the winner on Monday, March 16th! Good luck!
Hugs!
Sarah
PS - just a reminder, this coming Sunday the signups begin for the Hands2Help Charity Quilt Challenge - I hope you'll join us!!
I am a traditional but I like parts of Modern quilts. Sometimes they are too busy for me but May Flowers is beautiful. A must for 2015.
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilter that uses lots of bright colors. However, I appreciate and like modern quilts, too.
ReplyDeleteModern. Thanks for the giveaway. The book looks great. (debbie at wowilikethat dot com)
ReplyDeleteModern. Thanks for the giveaway. The book looks great. (debbie at wowilikethat dot com)
ReplyDeleteI'm a traditional quilter, but I can be flexible and my quilts don't really look traditional because I've always quilted with a 'twist'. I like busy bright quilts.
ReplyDeleteI am a modern quilter! I just love making quilts!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I would say I was a traditional quilter but with a modern twist at times.
ReplyDeleteI like modern traditionalism!
ReplyDeleteI think, I'm nothing of both, I quilt my way ... I shuffle all designs and fabrics together just like I would love it ... and I use all quilting techniques to reach my planed aims ... but I always employ the whole palett of rainbow-colors, mostly without black and white ...
ReplyDeleteLove these quilts thanks for Sharing
ReplyDeleteMy style varies, sometimes very traditional, other times somewhere in between traditional and modern. I think that means this book would be perfect for me! Thanks for the chance to win a copy.
ReplyDeleteI am a more traditional quilter. Jo and Kelli are correct on shopping your Mom's stash and notions first and When my daughter sews I do most of the ripping, not all as it is part of sewing. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI just love to quilt and refuse to put myself in a box because it is too much fun to try all sorts of ideas, fabrics and colors.
ReplyDeleteI have been following Jo's blog for quite some time and would love to win a copy of her first book.
ReplyDeleteWould love to have a copy of this book, several quilts I'd like to make! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLOL !!! I think my style is a rebellious traditional quilter. Though modern has been tugging my heart strings, I am making more traditional looking quilts with my own little twists within. Be it on the label, changing the pattern, adding something unique in the quilt design, i always need ot give it my personal flair. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI'm a scrap quilter, so I guess I'm traditional. I'm not a fan of the big open spaces of modern quilts. Some of them look unfinished to me, like the quilter got tired of making blocks and decided to fill in the space with gray or white. I love the quilts in Jo's book, though! They don't really look modern to me.
ReplyDeleteI always love to make scrappy quilts. I am looking forward to signing up for H2H.
ReplyDeleteI like modern but I do whatever I think of at the moment. I like to try new things.
ReplyDeleteI'm relatively new to quilting, but I definitely lean toward modern. That is funny since I prefer to sew traditional, smocked clothing for my daughter! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI like both traditional and modern- as long as the colors are warm and cheerful. In any quilt, the more fabrics the better. Sally in Saint Paul
ReplyDeleteWell, I consider my self a traditional quilter; that said, the last three quilts I've made (baby) have been a rainbow improv scrap block quilt, a raw edge circle applique, and a loon head I copied from a drawing. So maybe I'm a little of both. :) sarah@forrussia.org
ReplyDeleteI love Jo and Kelli's book! I read Jo's blog daily and have enjoyed seeing all of the quilts she and Kelli have put in the book. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI guess I like a little of each, as long as the colors are bright and cheery. Looks like a wonderful book!
ReplyDeleteI can't say one way or another. I am more of a modern traditionalist. I love modern fabric but traditional blocks always win!
ReplyDeleteI love traditional blocks with modern fabric. I'd have a hard time saying I was just one. I prefer to just say I'm a quilter.
ReplyDeleteI'm more modern than traditional, especially in the colors I like. But I don't limit what I might make -- if I like it, I just might give it a try!
ReplyDeleteI am most definitely a traditional quilter. Although I've been playing around with some modern fabrics and designs lately :-) Thanks fo the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteIts always good to try something new!
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilter. I haven't been quilting that long, but love to see the modern designs. I would love to win this book and broaden by quilting!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely a traditional quilter but really appreciate all aspects of the quilting community.
ReplyDeleteI follow Jo on her blog, and have been cheering her along as they worked on this book. I would love to win one - its a "must have".
ReplyDeleteI am new but I would say I am s mix of both. I just love to quilt!!!! sonjamclane76@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI'm Trad-mod. A word that means a little bit of both.
ReplyDeleteI am more of a traditional quilter but I can appreciate the work involved in modern quilts. I hope I win this book!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a peak at the book and patterns and for the chance to win a copy. Modern or traditional? I think I'm a little of both.
ReplyDeleteCan I say both? I have been quilting for over 20 years, and my daughter keeps converting me over to modern, which I also enjoy. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI tend toward traditional patterns with modern fabrics!
ReplyDeleteallisonpogany@gmail.com
Good morning! I just quilt what I like and don't label myself. The book looks fun :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great book. I really like the quilt in the second picture. Me, traditional or modern? Gee, I think I am both (is that a cop out?) Depends on who and why I am making a quilt for. I give away most of the quilts I make so I try to match the quilt with the person. If the quilt is for me or my house I tend to make more modern or traditional blocks with a modern flair.
ReplyDeleteI am new to quilting and still exploring the various styles. Thanks for the prize! merryorganic@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteHI,a beginner, just learning to love all things "Quilty"! I think I'm leaning toward 'Tradtional Quilting'! This book looks so interesting to me!
ReplyDeletemsstitcher1214@gmail.com
I follow Jo and her book looks like one I would really like. I'm somewhere between a traditional and a modern quilter. I like the modern fabrics, but not so much the wonkiness and negative space.
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional scrappy quilter. Thanks for the chance to win. I love to look at "modern" designs.
ReplyDeleteI love modern quilts with traditional blocks, low volume fabrics - I love it all. Can't say I am one or the other at this time.
ReplyDeleteThis book looks like a lot of fun and perfect for using some scraps :-)
ReplyDeleteI'd like to think I was modern, but I'm about as traditional as they come. I have modified some patterns, but how modern is a paper piecer?
ReplyDeleteLove the quilts you showed... it'd be an inspiring book, for sure.
Hugs
I'm mostly traditional, but like to make baby quilts with a modern vibe.
ReplyDeleteI'm mostly traditional, but like to make baby quilts with a modern vibe.
ReplyDeleteCan I be a Modern Traditionalist???
ReplyDeleteI am a new quilter at 61 but I don't have a special way I do it guess I'm an old traditionalist
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional very scrappy quilter. Having a lot of fun and enjoying your blog and Jo's blog for a long time now. I love seeing all the charity quilts your group gives away.
ReplyDeleteI was a traditional quilter but am now leaning towards a modern but before I can completely go the other way I have to purchase new fabric (a chore I will have to rise to with great difficulty lol)
ReplyDeleteI was a traditional quilter but am now leaning towards a modern but before I can completely go the other way I have to purchase new fabric (a chore I will have to rise to with great difficulty lol)
ReplyDeleteI love traditional quilts for their pattern possibilities, and that's where I started. Call me a nerd but I love figuring out how the shapes fit together. If I had quilted in high school I would have aced geometry. That said, I really am getting into the modern stuff more. I don't really care for a lot of negative space in my own work but I like the way it looks in other people's work. I'm a hybrid. I'll sit next to Alycia, the Modern Traditionalist!
ReplyDeleteA mix of both but mainly modern!
ReplyDeleteI love them all. Any type of quilt. Any type of fabric. Bring it on. Thanks for the opportunity to win.
ReplyDeleteI also tend to turn more and more into modern quilting. Love the boldness of a modern quilt.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say I am somewhat inbetween. I do like a lot of traditional quilts, but find myself attracted to the fresh look of the modern quilts. Thanks for the chance at the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI can't make up my mind, because there are things that I love about both. I lean more toward the modern, but still like traditional.
ReplyDeleteI would say that I am a mix of both. I love the traditional quilt patterns that I grew up with, but also appreciate the modern take on quilts. I am currently working on a pattern I would consider modern traditional! :)
ReplyDeleteSandy A
I do more traditional quilts than modern but this book looks like it will be a great addition to my other books.
ReplyDeleteI tend to lean modern these days, but I've ways loved the traditional quilts, too.
ReplyDeleteI am a mix of both types of quilters, but I think I lean toward the traditional side. I would love a copy of Jo and Kelli's book. Thanks for the giveaway! Enjoy!!!

ReplyDeleteI'd say I'm a modern fabrics lover but using them traditionally! how's that for mixing things up! :)
ReplyDeleteI do appreciate modern quilt designs, but would call myself a traditional quilter.
ReplyDeleteI'm a traditional quilter at heart but I enjoy the look of modern quilts.
ReplyDeleteI love Jo & Kelli's quilts. I would call myself a modern traditionalist. I've been drawn to the modern quilts but also the traditional. I'm not too much into negative space and overquilting the quilts but I do like the fresh colors and different ways of looking at quilts that the modern quilters have brought to the quilt world. I am truly a blend.
ReplyDeleteI've always been a traditional piecer (sadly, I don't do my own quilting), but I have to say I have lately been attracted to so many modern quilt blogs. I can see quite a few in my future as my daughters prefer the modern look.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for Jo and Kelli with this great book - love the blog and their insight and family. I consider myself more a traditional quilter, but it is fun to jump out of the box from time to time.
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilter, but I have begun venturing into the modern quilting territory, and it is fun! Love this book!
ReplyDeleteI would consider myself a traditionalist but am warming up to some more modern designs - especially Jo & Kelli's. Just enough modern for me! Enjoyed browsing your blog! Will certainly return!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win. Love all the scrappy deliciousness.
ReplyDeleteI would call myself a fan of traditional quilts. To me they are more cozy and warm. However I enjoy looking at modern ones. With all these precuts we can purchase modern ones go together fast.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your blog.
I am probably a traditional quilter, but like many singers I am crossing over into the modern .. I enjoy both of them, and having teenage granddaughters they love the modern bright ones.
ReplyDeleteI love Jo and Kelli's blog and have enjoyed looking around on yours.
thanks for being a part of this hop
Gladys
I'm a traditional quilter but I have stepped into the modern pool at times....not too modern.
ReplyDeleteHappy sewing,
Leanne

ReplyDeleteTraditional quilter except when I make baby quilts. The girls want more modern quilts for their babies.
ReplyDeleteI consider myself a traditional quilter and a scrap quilter, however the last 2 quilts I have made have been modern...so perhaps a cross over?? Thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI am a simple quilter.Nothing to hard so I probably lean more to a traditional quilter. Love your 16 blocks quilts.
ReplyDeleteI'm a traditional quilter but something draws me to modern quilts. They are growing on me for sure! Love Jo & Kelli's book. Just the right mix of modern touch to the traditional quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love Jo's blog and would love to win her book.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say I am a traditional quilter. Thanks for a chance win a copy of the book.
ReplyDeleteI jump back and forth. I would say traditional with a modern flair! Thanks for the opportunity. qltdiva1@fuse.net
ReplyDeleteI love Jo's Blog...& all the fun & busy things she & Kelli do...& have loved following as they are settling into their new Home..soooo much work they did there..is beautiful!

DeleteI'm a beginner so I'm not quite sure yet! but I do like both! Thanks for the chance to win this book!
ReplyDeleteHi, I consider myself to be a modern traditionalist. The reason is that I use traditional patterns with modern and crazy fabrics. Thanks.
ReplyDeletejessica.breidinger@yahoo.com
I'm a combination quilter. I love using the great modern fabrics in the tried and true traditional designs. The best of both worlds! That is why this book is so great. Something for everyone.
ReplyDeleteI make traditional quilts, modern quilts and a combination of each. Is it still considered a traditional quilt if you use very modern and bright fabrics? Is it still considered a modern quilt if you use reproduction fabrics?
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilter, but lately I am crossing over to make more modern quilts. I have been adding quite a few modern prints to my stash, and can't wait to put them to use. Thanks for the chance to win!

ReplyDeleteI love the look of both but, I'm definitely a traditional quilter. Thanks for the generous giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI think I should say traditional. I have recently started to appreciate modern and am making some! A quilt life is too short to say no to a new technique!
ReplyDeleteI like modern more than traditional, but as a longarm quilter, I quilt them all! Considering I have a backlog of over 50 quilts of my own that I need to quilt, I'll be quilting both for a long time!!!
ReplyDeleteI think you would call me traditional but I also like the bright ,happy colors of many modern fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI would say that I love Traditional patterns with a modern flair
ReplyDeleteEr......beginner?
ReplyDeletet_ktl at yahoo.com
I am more traditional than modern. I love traditional blocks and am not drawn to wonky, improv, or a lot of negative space. Yet I like the simple geometric flair & bright clear colours of many contemporary quilts. annesimonot@sasktel.net
ReplyDeleteI am all over the map. I love traditional patterns, colors, and quilts, but am also drawn to modern styles and fabrics and the playfulness and freedom of Gwen Marston, Victoria Findlay Wolfe, and Mary Lou Weidman. My quilts don't have a signature "look" but I certainly have a wonderful time exploring.
ReplyDeleteI am more of a traditional quilter but I am taking a class in Modern Quilts this summer. Hoping to branch out a bit. This book would be a great addition to my quilting library.

ReplyDeleteI think I am starting to be a combination of both. So many great quilts in their book.
ReplyDeleteI definitely lean both ways, but when push comes to shove, I'd tilt over to the Modern side. Love the modern designs, colors and quiltability!
ReplyDeleteI like traditional blocks in both traditional and modern fabrics and settings.
ReplyDeleteI would have said that I am a traditional quilt maker, however over the past year my husband has pointed out just how modern I have become in my quilting!
ReplyDeleteOooh - I love that last quilt! I love everything - traditional and modern for blocks and fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI'm more traditional, but do enjoy some of the more modern styles. It's fun to play, and not be categorized.
ReplyDeleteI have been traditional but am looking for inspiration in the modern style. I may never become "modern" but I feel the nudge to incorporate an update to the traditional style..
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilter, but I like to modern quilt patterns...not so big on modern fabrics, though.
ReplyDeleteWhat great quilts in this book! I'm hooked! I think I'd describe myself as a traditional gal with strong modern undertones. I love prints and solids, scrappy, classic blocks like flying geese, pinwheels/half square triangles, drunkards path etc. Thanks for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteI am more of a traditional quilter that uses modern fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI would insider myself a traditional quilter. But I would like to try making a modern quilt.
ReplyDeleteThis book look great, hope to be lucky XXX I love both quilting, traditional and modern :)
ReplyDeleteI WANT to be modern, but I'm probably more of a traditional quilter. While I have already purchased this book, if I receive another one I intend to pay it forward to another quilter.
ReplyDeletedubba2@live.co
Since I like both the traditional and modern quilts in the book I think I am someone who is a combination of the two. I love the color and freedom the modern quilts have. I also love all the quilt blocks and fabrics that traditional quilts use as well. I have both kinds of quilts in my house though my husband is not so wild about the modern style but he does love the bold and darker colors. Thanks for the review and all your efforts for charity, I love making quilts for Project Linus. We are trying to get a stash of 9 strip quilts and that has been a fun way to finish a quilt quickly and try out simple quilting designs. Have a great day- K-
ReplyDeleteOf the two I'd have to say traditional but I do like many of the modern quilts I've seen. I'd love to win this book.
ReplyDeleteI consider myself a traditional quilter. I sure love the quilts in this book and would love to make one with my 1800's reproduction fabrics. So happy for a chance to win a copy of the book. Have a great day! Lisa
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great book. I'm definitely more of a modern than traditional quilter; but it's a constantly evolving process.
ReplyDeleteThis book looks awesome! I lean toward being a traditional quilter, but I use a lot of solids. Thanks!

Looks like a great book! I"m more of a traditional quilter, but I love the more modern fabrics! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed Jo & Kelli's blog for a long time, and I'm excited about their new book! Thanks for a great book review, and thanks for the chance at a fun giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilter but some of the modern quilts get my juices flowing. b.j.day68@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilter but I know any of the quilts in Country Girl Modern can be sewn either way. That's what makes the book so interesting. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI think I have evolved to be a modern quilter. Still appreciate the traditional quilts though. Love the bright fabrics and simple design/blocks of the more modern blocks. Would so enjoy winning a copy of Country Girl Modern!
ReplyDeleteI think I possibly could be considered a traditional quilter. But I do love the bright colors as well. I love Jo's blog post I read it every morning and will probably be adding yours as well. I would love to get my hands on their new book.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing about this new book!! I'm primarily a traditional quilter though I seldom use "reproduction" prints and currently focus on blending the modern fabrics with my huge stash of 35 years of buying quilting fabric!! Have to use it!!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a great book! Jo and Kelli are so much fun to read and make wonderful quilts.
ReplyDeleteI'm evolving from traditional to modern quilting
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilter but sometimes do make modern quilts. Most of all anything I can use scraps in is my type of quilt.
ReplyDeleteConnie Wood
ckwood@charter.net
That does look like a great book! So many wonderful designs, so little time :) I think I fall somewhere between traditional and modern...maybe that's why it's so hard to define modern quilts - there are so many of us who don't really fit either category, but float back and forth between them. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm more of a traditional quilter but I don't think you would know it by some of the quilts that I make!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun quilts! I love May Flowers.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely say I'm traditional, with a wild sense of colour at times (is that modern? or just crazy?!)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see this new book!
I am a traditional but love to use unexpected prints and color with the patterns. I love the modern twist with the quilts from this book.
ReplyDeleteAm OCD quilter! Tradition or Modern? Not sure what you call it...a self learner! Started out making "sandwich" quilts...taking 2 pieces of fabric and sandwiching in the batting. Tying up with fun buttons. Able to finish in a weekend! Now bravely reaching out to try new patterns. Still a novice compared to some of the many talented quilters I know, but having fun, laughing and learning new tricks! 😊💕
ReplyDeleteI would have to way traditional. But I am trying to get out of my "box" more and more. This looks like a fantastic book and would love to win a copy. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI think I tend to be more traditional, but I will make whatever pattern strikes my fancy at the time : )
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this book! I have so many piles of beautiful fabrics just wishing and hoping for a beautiful pattern to be made into a marvelous quilt!
ReplyDeleteI'm traditional, but sometimes lean toward modern when I gift a quilt to a youngster, teen.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! I like traditional quilts in modern fabrics, especially solids. After seeing the quilts from QuiltCon, I definitely know I am not a modern quilter; they're just not my style. I do love the traditional patterns you share here on the blog, especially all of those 16 patches.
ReplyDeleteI consider myself a traditional quilter but I love all the quilts in this book! I can see myself making all of these-thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI was totally traditional, but have been trying more modern. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteLooks like a great book. Would love to have thanks
ReplyDeleteMy quilts are half modern and half traditional. The bright colors and movement appeal to me. I would love to have the book! Janinebaldwin@comcast.net
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilter, but, I've done some modern things lately. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilt and a modern-want-to-be.
ReplyDeleteI am more of a traditional quilter but see many modern quilts that I like. There is not one quilt in Jo and Kelli's book that I would not like to make. Thinks for the chance to win this book it is one I definitely want to own.
ReplyDeleteI would say I'm somewhere in the middle, I like both, and have done both. If I had to pick one I would say I lean a little more towards modern.
ReplyDeleteWould love to win a copy. Great set of quilts, looks like you can't make just one!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great book, thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely a traditional quilter! I'm so impressed with the modern quilt movement and how these young girls are reinventing the medium - they do amazing things!
ReplyDeleteI am a tradition quilter and love to do scrappy quilts. I like the color of modern quilts, but my heart still lies with traditional. I think the book would be marvelous, even though I might change up the colors a little!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway chance! I would call myself a traditional quilter, but lately I've made three modern quilts and really enjoyed the process. My kids are in their 20s, so they seem to like the modern quilts better. I can do that, too!
ReplyDeleteI would definitely consider myself a modern quilter. The idea of making 144 blocks all alike absolutely sends me into a tizzy. I really enjoy the machine quilting part the best, but I do ok making tops. One of these days I'm going to make a wholecloth quilt, but I digress... Thank you for hosting the giveaway. utahoosier at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI used to be just a traditionalist quilter, but the more I see of the New modern, the more I like it! It really has evolved in a short few years.
ReplyDeletei would say i am a modern traditional quilter.
ReplyDeleteThat is a tough question~ I am a bit of both! Thanks for the chance~ I love the quilts in this book!
ReplyDeleteI like doing traditional blocks, but using brightly colored prints and solids. Plus I like assembling them with negative space too. Does that make me a modern traditionalist, or what? kathleendotlutzatcomcastdotnet
ReplyDeleteWould love the opportunity to win this book! I consider myself a "whatever I can get my hands on" quilter, making any pattern that catches my eye!
ReplyDeleteLove these quilts. I would probably consider myself a traditional quilter who loves Scrappy everything, but I have made a few modern things and really like them to.

ReplyDeleteI'm a traditional quilter but I like some of the more "modern" fabrics being designed.
ReplyDeleteThe quilts look lovely. I'm probably a bit more modern than traditional, but like you, prefer quilts without too much negative space. I'm sure this book would give me some new challenges
ReplyDeleteI'm traditional but like modern fabrics and machine quilting .... it's just fun regardless style. Love your blog, thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteWould love to win a copy of Jo&Kelli's new modern book! Looks great!

Well, I've been quilting about 5 years and haven't exhausted the traditional patterns yet. I would say I was in the traditional camp although I really like some of the modern stuff too.
ReplyDeleteI started out being a traditional quilter but more and more I'm drawn to the wonderful modern fabrics that are hard to resist. Would love to own a copy of Jo and Kelli's box. I'm an Iowa gal and know where Jo's Country Junction is.
ReplyDeleteWhat great quilts! I'm more of a traditional quilter but would love to modernize!

ReplyDeleteI have been following Jo's blog for a while now and have just loved following along for the remodel! I would love to win a copy of their first book!
ReplyDeleteI would consider myself to be a traditional quilter. I think that Jo and her daughter, Kelli, have made the difference between traditional and towards modern without bordering on strict modern. I have several favorites that I want to add to my "to do" list. Now I just need to know how to invent more time. Congratulations Jo and Kelli on your first publication. Are you busy working on your next book?
