Make-A-List Monday #82! And We Have Our Winners!!

Hi, all!!

Did it get cold where you live this past weekend?  It sure did here!  We've had such lovely warm weather this winter, but it bottomed out this weekend - definitely a good weekend to stay inside and sew!  Even though the roads were a little icy, we had eleven ladies from church at my house sewing on quilts Saturday morning - a good turnout for a very cold morning!  Being Baptist, we did a lot of eating, coffee-drinking, talking and even a lot of sewing!  These ladies are really keeping me hopping, making quilt kits for them to sew up.  I think I've made fifteen in the past two weeks - and about half of them have been returned already pieced.  Woohoo!!

OK, enough of that.  I'm sure most of you are here to see who won the giveaways associated with the Scrappy Block Challenge!  If you haven't already looked at the great blocks that were created, you can see them here - and they're well worth taking the time to check them out.  There are lots of creative minds out there!

I really wish I had stuff to give away to each one of you who participated - you certainly deserve it!  I really appreciate the time and effort you put into creating your blocks, and those of you who have sent your blocks on to be used in our quilt ministry, rest assured that they will find good homes in future quilts!  So who are the winners?

The winner of a copy of Cut The Scraps!, donated by The Taunton Press.....

And now we're back to our regularly scheduled programming - the part where I confess how I did on last week's list!  So here goes...

1.  Quilt the pink and orange ministry quilt.
Done!  And it was delivered this morning...

2.  Quilt the skateboard ministry quilt.
I didn't get to the skateboard quilt - but I did finish up this one...

3.  Bind the friendship star ministry quilt.
Done - and delivered!

4.  Make up more kits.
Done!  They've been distributed to my sewing sisters and some of them have even been finished and returned!

5.  Clean up the house for Sewing Sisters Saturday!
Done!  (Although it was a near thing!)

So all in all, not a bad week for getting things done.  Here's what's on the list for this week...

1.  Quilt the skateboarding quilt.

2.  Quilt a man's quilt for the ministry.

3.  Piece a stars quilt for the ministry.

4.  Piece a charm squares mini quilt for a special project.

5.  Put together more kits for the ministry.

OK, maybe more than I can get done, but it's worth a shot!

And just for fun, here's a little video I saw this morning on Facebook - be sure to watch what the couple (90 years old, married 62 years) do to each other when they change places at the piano - you'll laugh, I guarantee it!!

  4. Thank you Sarah. I'm really excited to be a winner. I kept playing with the blocks and last night I came up with 2 more settings. I think I will make them into a sampler quilt. Hopefully, the resulting top will look nice enough to use for your ministry.
Thanks for sharing the video clip. I sure hope my husband and I are as spry when we are that age.

  5. Sounds like a good week. It was fun to see all the blocks people created. I have a long list to work on, but I won't get back into the studio until Friday. I have all next week, however, so I should get lots done then.
