Make-A-List Monday - The Best Laid Plans....

Hi, all!

I hope you've had a good and productive week - I did, although it didn't go quite as I planned!  Let's see how I did on last week's list...

1.  Make a back for a woman's quilt needed for the ministry.
Done!

2.  Add borders and make a back for a second woman's quilt needed for the ministry.
Done!

3.  Quilt and bind both of those quilts.
Both have been quilted, but I didn't get to the binding yet.

4.  Bind two children's quilts for Phoenix Quilts.
Not done...

5.  Work on an upholstery project for a friend.
And once again, not done!

But in my defense, I did make a quilt for a friend who is going through a rough time (pics on Wednesday), helped a friend finish up a quilt in a big hurry, taught another ministry member how to use the Juki and quilt frame, and I also made this pretty thing...

This is a top I made testing Angela Pingel's upcoming pattern, Down The Rabbit Hole!  This is a great pattern and you should buy it as soon as it comes out - believe me, you don't want to figure out the math on this one, but it's super simple to make!  I can't wait to quilt it, but I've got one more ministry quilt to quilt and then four to bind before I can quilt this one...

So now, let's see what's on the list for this week...

1.  Bind three ministry quilts.

2.  Make a back for a ministry quilt.

3.  Quilt and bind that quilt.

4.  Quilt and bind the Rabbit Hole quilt.

5.  Quilt two quilts for Phoenix Quilts.

6.  Work on my friend's upholstery project.

7.  Meet with my sewing sisters on Saturday!

I'd say that's more than enough!!  At least it will keep me out of trouble...

And because this post is a little short on pics - most will be on Wednesday's post - here's a picture of Lilli on her first day of school this year, stylin' a new Dora backpack!!

When did she get so grown up?

So now the question is - - - what are you working on this week?

Hugs!

Sarah

  1. Oh my goodness! That backpack is as big as she is! Her hair is getting longer--love it! I am working on samples for the quilt show in February. Getting lots of goodies from Julie @ Intrepid Thread. Just wait, I have more. We are in the 80-90's this week and have a really large pile of compost being spread, plants being planted and paint cans collecting dust! No pictures yet.

  2. Yes, that back pack is huge! What a little grown-up she has become. Being off at the show for 3 days has me a little behind schedule - so catching up on blocks, swaps, blog reading and then to get some FMQ done on 3 quilts piled by the machine.

  3. I made a quilt for my great-niece, but cannot for the life me find the fabric I bought for the backing (UGH!). I am having neck surgery on Friday, will be down and out for a couple weeks. But hope to have some time for sewing before I have to go back to work.
I am amazed how much you get accomplished!

  4. Backpack is hugh and she feels all grown up. My DDL brought me a blouse to shorten tomorrow. I am doing applique at night and will be completing two tops for grand and making a dress for her sister. I have to machine quilt a small quilt to keep up with UFO's completed this year and I want to do one a month.

  5. Umm, your list is getting longer!! I do love this list idea. I also love the idea that the kids are going back to school. I think I will get out a notebook and make a list of things to do..but mine will only have one quilty thing on it.. work on hand quilting my hexagon quilt, and then some house cleaning tasks each day to get done. Gotta work on those home tasks, and work on my home organization. But then I can mark things off the list and feel accomplished!!

  6. Seeing the picture of the beautiful Princess Lilli filled me with nostalgia for my daughter's first day of school. The backpack is so big, it looks like she could crawl inside of it. I think it was perfect timing for your daughter to have another baby so your house wouldn't be so empty when Lilli is in school.

  9. Funny how the grandkids keep getting older - I have one that is 20?!!!! and I can still feel that one in my arms as a wee baby - and us old grannies get younger and younger. I can't be older than 18. Don't you feel like you're 18?

  11. WOW!!! You are one busy lady!!! :) Because of how busy Phoenix Quilts keeps me I haven't been able to sew for over a month! I'm going through withdrawls!!! :) I've decided I'm going to try to take a couple of hours one day a week to work on something personal. We'll see how that goes! ;) Things are so exciting over here!!! :)

  13. I don't know where my brain has been, but I suddenly realized the bed quilt I wanted to finish for my son for his birthday needs to be finished. His BD is in Sept.! Gotta love being a quilter!

Fist day of school! Always fun to have a new backpack, but yes that one is cute and huge!
