It's Friday - time to get your whoop whoop on!! Are you ready?
*&*&*&*&*&*&*
It's been kind of a slow week around here, not much finished that I haven't shown already - but I did get a little quilt designing done!
Earlier in the week, Lilli was watching Fantasia 2000, and really loved this sequence...
After it was over, she asked me if I could make a quilt with butterflies like that on it. I told her that I thought I could, and went off to play with my EQ7. And this is one version of what I came up with...
I love EQ7 - it let me put together several different versions by manipulating the blocks in different arrangements - but this is my favorite, I think. It was Lilli's, too!
So it's a small whoop, but hopefully someday soon, it will be a big whoop when I get it made up!!

And now, the big moment -

And now it's your turn!
What have you been whooping about this week?
What's made you dance a happy dance?
Share! We want to dance with you!!
Remember - it doesn't have to be a finish -
Just whatever you're excited about!
The party will remain open until Sunday midnight -
Be there or be square!!
Hugs!
Sarah
Lilli is one smart cookie. She knows that her grandma will make any quilt that she asks for! Your pattern matches perfectly with the butterflies in the video. It is going to one fabulous quilt.
ReplyDeleteI always loved Fantasia - what a wonderful quilt!
ReplyDeleteTried my hand at blue work this week. Would have finished but decided to do part of it with DMC size 12 which I ordered online last night.
ReplyDeleteThat would be awesome with a batik in the background!
ReplyDeleteWhat a COOL project!! I absolutely love the inspiration and idea of this one. This will be a quilt that will make you hear music every time you look at it. :)
ReplyDeleteVery neat quilt design!
ReplyDeleteGreat design and a fun way to play with colors & fabrics too!
ReplyDeleteHi!!! I love your butterflies!!! I can see it in many color ways!!! I will be watching for it!! Thank You
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah! I've tried several times to add my link but it won't add.... maybe it will show up in multiples later :*) I'll try to come back and link up later.
ReplyDeleteLove your butterfly quilt - what little girl wouldn't love that? I need to get in there and play with my EQ6 more.
Yep! There they are! You can remove one of them if you like :*D
ReplyDeleteYou are such a good grandma to go straight-away to creating a little girls dreams. =) So you get a GREAT BIG WHOOP-WHOOP!!!
ReplyDeleteaaaa, sigh, and SNIFF, I have EQ7. But, I'm at a loss as to how to work the dag-blast thing...well, it's not EQ7's fault. But, either I'm not patient enuff or smart enuff...prob both =(
have a great weekend. =)
hugZ,
annie
Love your butterfly quilt idea! It's Fantastic!!! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat design! I think it would be fun in a sky blue, too. Or, even a green where you had to hunt for the butterflies in the "grass". Thanks for the linking party.
ReplyDeleteMy children loved to watch Fantasia when they were little. I love that Lilli has complete confidence that grandma can turn her ideas into reality. You're lucky to have such a special relationship with the girls.
ReplyDeleteLove the butterfly quilt....looks like a fun project!
ReplyDeleteLove the butterfly quilt! I really need to get into some quilting software...so many plans, so little time!
ReplyDeleteThat is one fun little quilt!
ReplyDeleteWHOOP WHOOP! That's ME! I'll be on the lookout for the Traveling Stash box (and all that yummy goodness!)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the Butterfly Quilt. The colors will be so bright!
ReplyDeleteI think you nailed it, Sarah! That is going to be such a fun quilt!
ReplyDeleteEQ7 does wonders! Hope you get a chance to do that one up:)
