Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Giveaway! Nathanael's Ladder's Time Has Come!

Hi, all!

Here it is, Friday again, and time to whoop it up!!  I hope you're ready to show off what you've been working on - I can't wait to see!

I decided the other day that it was the perfect time to do the raffle/giveaway of Nathanael's Ladder, the quilt I made for my daughter to use to help raise money for their adoption fees.  Today is the 4th of July, a great day to start a giveaway, and three weeks from today is July 25th - or Christmas in July!  Someone will get a lovely Christmas present a bit early - and you know you want it to be you!

So here's Nathanael's ladder, in all its glory…

The front...

and the back!

Lovely straight line quilting gives this quilt
great texture!!

Nathanael's Ladder has been washed and dried and all its beautiful crinkly goodness is ready
to go its forever home!

The vital statistics:

Size: 56 inches square

Fabrics:  Kona white, Kona silver, and various Denyse Schmidt prints from Flea Market Fancy Legacy and DS Quilts.

Batting:  100% cotton

Quilting:  Straight line quilting done on the long arm with white Glide thread.

And now, the details on the raffle/giveaway!  As many of you already know, my daughter and her family are in the process of adopting a little boy from China, who will be named Nathanael when he comes home!  Nathanael, like our youngest granddaughter Emmy, is profoundly deaf and thus this is a special needs adoption, which usually go more quickly than regular adoptions in China.

The adoption process takes about twelve to eighteen months or longer, and costs between $25,000-$35,000.  This event is only one of many things we will do to raise the necessary monies to #bringNathanaelhome!

So here's the skinny on this event.  You'll have multiple ways to enter to win….
*1*

Primarily, this is a fundraising event.  But that's where you can get multiple entries!  For every $5 you donate, you will get one entry in the drawing.  $5, one entry; $25, five entries!  You can make your tax-deductible donation by clicking here, or by clicking on the "#bringNathanaelhome" button at the top right of this blog.  After you make your donation, come back and leave a comment letting me know that you did!

If you would prefer not to use the website to make a donation, tell me so in your comment and I will contact you with mailing information.  Be sure to give me your email address just in case you are a no-reply blogger!*

*2*

But you don't have to make a donation to enter in the drawing!  (Although we would really appreciate it if you would -
because every little bit helps!)
For one entry in the drawing, leave a comment on this blog post  telling the most memorable gift you ever received
for Christmas!

*3*

And for a final entry in the drawing, share about the giveaway on your own blog!  Be sure to put a link back to this blogpost in your post, and come back here and leave a comment with a link to your blogpost.

This event will stay open until 5:00 pm CST on July 24th, 2014.  A winner will be drawn and announced on July 25th -
Christmas in July!!

There!  Easy-peasy!!

*A note about no-reply bloggers - if you don't receive a response to your comment from me, you are a no-reply blogger.  You can email me directly at salliesue57 (at) gmail (dot) com if that happens to you.

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

And here's an added incentive - if the donations exceed $500, I'll throw in another quilt so there will be two winners!  Here's a sneak peek at that quilt - more pics to come if we start getting close to the $500 mark!

The "Quick Trick Block Stack" quilt
(Bonus entry to the first person who comments
correctly about where the name came from!)

Congratulations to Leanne P., who knew
it was "Fox in Socks" by Dr. Seuss!
And I'll go out on a limb and say that if we get over $1,000 in donations, I'll come up with a third quilt!  So let's see what we can do to help #bringNathanaelhome!!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

And now it's your turn!

What are you whooping about this week?

What's making you dance the happy dance?

Share - we want to dance right along with you!

Remember - it doesn't have to be a finish -
just whatever's making you happy!

The linky party will stay open until
midnight on Sunday.

Hope to see you there!

Hugs!

Sarah

  9. I am praying for your family; Thank you for sharing the adoption process with us all. The best Christmas present I ever got was a new down duvet from my in-laws after we'd had to leave ours behind when we left Russia suddenly due to health concerns after living there 10 years. It was so comforting to have it replaced. sarah@forrussia.org

  10. The best Christmas gift I ever received was the sewing machine my husband picked out for me when I said I wanted something with a few more stitches.

  11. I love the Quick Trick Block Stack. It sounds like it comes from the Dr. Suess book Fox in Socks. A few years ago we had my brother's girlfriend (who is from France) read it to my boys. That book is hard enough to read when english is your first language, imagine how it was for her with being french thrown in!

  13. My favourite Christmas present was a typewriter with a dial to dial up the letters that I received as a child of 6 or 7. Always liked words. Good luck with the fundraising.

I would like to make a donation but would rather do it by mail than through the website. May I? I would like to be entered in the drawing as well.
My best Christmas gift was the time my husband surprised me with a new wedding ring after I had lost my engagement ring.

  16. My most memorable Christmas present was when my DH planned a road trip so I could visit family in Houston later in the new year. I had seven months to look forward to it, and get ready to travel with 3 little ones. I have donated via PayPal - this is a blessed act your lovely family is doing. Prayers being said.

  20. So sweet of you to make the Nathanael's ladder quilt; it's GORGEOUS. Even more gorgeous must be your daughter and son-in-law's hearts in this parenting journey. My daughter has special needs, too, so I'm so grateful for parents like them. (I made a donation. Hope to blog about it, too, but I'll come leave another comment when I have.)

  21. Absolutely gorgeous quilt!
My most memorable Christmas gift was a blue portable Smith-Corona typewriter, when I was 10. I loved that thing! I wrote stories, typed recipes for my mom--anything, so that I could use the typewriter! :o)

  22. My favorite Christmas gift... Quite awhile ago I made a sweatshirt for mystep dad with my toddler and infant footprints on it. Those kids are now teens and the sweatshirt wore out. Mom made the footprints intoa wall hanging for me rather than throw them away.
