Make-A-List Monday - A Light at the End of the Tunnel?

Hi, all!

Has it been a busy week for you?  I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel but it's still going to be a busy week here.  Lots to do!  But let's see how last week's list went

1.  Make a fifth giveaway quilt.
Done!  I love the way this one turned out - and aren't my photography assistants cute?  Well, at least their feet… Emmy still doesn't understand that she needs to stand in front of the quilt!

2.  Make a sixth giveaway quilt!
Done!  Despite the "oops" moment and subsequent frog stitching, this one is done and in the mail!!

3.  Start working on a quilt for Nancy to raffle off at an upcoming craft show.
In progress! All my fabric is cut, the strip sets sewn together and cut again, and I've started piecing the blocks now.  Hopefully I'll have a finished top in the next week or so!

4.  Work on final details for upcoming women's event at church.
I've been working on it pretty steady for the past few days, and while I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, it still might be a train!  Here's what my workspace looked like today - no sewing going on here today!!  But as you can see I have all the necessities - Diet Coke and chocolate!

5.  Keep up with all quilt ministry needs that arise.
Done!

This beauty went to a woman with a brain tumor...

…this one went to a woman battling lung and liver cancer...

…this one went to a man in his final days battling cancer…

…and this one went to a man who was seriously injured in a building collapse in Maryland.

(Fortunately all of these quilts were already finished and waiting for their forever homes!)

And now, here's what I'm looking at this week…

1.  Finish all the final details for the women's event at church.

2. Choose all the table setting items and decorations for my table at the event.

3.  Straighten up the house to get ready for my nieces' visit!

4.  Work on the quilt for Nancy to raffle off at her upcoming craft show.

5.  Work up an estimate for a commission quilt.

6.  Keep up with ministry needs as they arise.

Whew!  I tell you, I will be glad to see Saturday afternoon roll around!  With the women's event over and Lilli back in school, I think (THINK!) my weeks will become a little more predictable.  We'll see!

But I'm also looking forward to Saturday for a whole other reason! One of my favorite book series is coming to Starz!!  (The first episode airs this Saturday night.)  Are you an Outlander fan?  Are Claire and Jamie old friends of yours, too?  If so, then you'll appreciate the little pic I saw on Facebook this week….

I did have a very special moment today, though - this raffle quilt went to its forever home today…

…and I was so happy when I found out who won it.  You may have seen the story on my blog about Savannah and her "Hope" quilt - it's the most viewed post ever on my blog.  It's a fabulous story, if you haven't read it.  Well, Savannah's mom won this quilt in the quilt giveaway!  And I finally got to meet her in person.  It was a wonderful moment and I loved being able to give her that quilt!

 *&*&*&*&*&*&*

And now, the question is - - - what are YOU working on this week?

Hugs!

Sarah

  1. Diet coke and chocolate - that made me laugh! I have a few little errands thru the week, but mainly just a week to relax because once my SIL is done with my big table - it get's set up for some marathon FMQ.

  5. I don't know how I missed Savannah's story on it's first telling, but I cried through it this time. At every turn there was a twist. Yes, lots of lessons learned. Thanks for sharing it again.

  7. As usual, not as much as I'd like this week. I hope to get into my studio this afternoon to do the applique letters on the school art quilt.

  8. You must be wearing out your Super Woman cape, Sarah! The thought of just whipping up those last few giveaway quilts boggles my mind. Maybe the Diet Coke and chocolate are your rocket fuel. I laughed at the Outlander funny. I am debating whether to call my cable company and order Starz while Outlander is on, or just wait for the DVDs, which I predict will be out by Christmastime or first of the new year. Decisions, decisions...and I'm running out of time so I better flip that coin!

  9. I love your #1 giveaway quilt. Man, you give a lot of quilts away. I hope your family/extended family all have one. I figure I'll keep stock piling quilts here at home till someday, there's enough for each of my posterity to have one. But giving them away is also great! Maybe even appreciated more. Love the feet models :)
