I May Have A Scrap Problem... And No Time To Work On It!

Hi, all!

The month of May has passed, and with it the long days with lots of sewing time!!  I don't know about you, but my summer is shaping up to be very busy - at least for the next month - so I think I'm going to take a break from setting a goal this month.  Hopefully I will find time to sew with my scraps this month - I have this quilt that I'm working on...

...and a couple of projects for the Twelve Days of Christmas in July blog hop that I need to work on - those will definitely be scrap based!  You can read more about the upcoming blog hop by clicking on the Page just under my blog header picture - it's going to be a lot of fun, I think!  So if I have a goal at all, it would be to get those projects done.

In the meantime, I thought I'd share some scrappy inspiration that I came across today while getting my hair done!

Now, if that's not enough to inspire you to dig through those scrap bins, I don't know what it will take!  I don't know about you, but I am really falling in love with the rich riot of color in many scrap quilts.  If you want to find out more about any of these quilts, they are all pinned on my Oh Scrap! Pinterest board, which you can get to by clicking on the board name earlier in this sentence.  I'm sorry for not posting the location information with each picture, but time is short this week, and finished is better than perfect, right?

So now I've shared my "goal" for the month, and some inspiration!  What are you planning to work on this month?  Or will you be taking some time off, too?  It's all good - those scraps aren't going anywhere, and I bet there will be more of them by the time I get back to them in earnest!  For, as a very wise and experienced scrap quilter told me recently,

"It is not secret that when the lights go out in your sewing room, scraps throw wild parties and multiply faster than bunnies. ;)  "

If you do have a goal to share, link up below - we can all use the inspiration, plus we'll cheer you on!

So party hearty, scraps - - - I'll be back for you soon!

Hugs!

Sarah

  2. Love the first one, but I have sewn so many HSTs lately that I need a break from them. The low volumn strings do call though.

  6. I love some eye candy with my morning tea, sets me up for the day. The only thing scrappy I have on is my Floating Squares quilt, Bluebell Woods. I'm claiming it as scrappy as the fabrics were all given to me from a friend who didn't want them any more. I am having so much fun with this improv quilt I can't sew anything else so I'm trying to see how fast I can make it, start to finish. It is just so much fun to make.

  8. Thanks for the inspiration pictures. I got an additional 66 nine patches sewn yesterday, using up 594 2 ½" squares. There is a visible dent in the contents of that scrap box now, Yay!
