Can I Get a Whoop Whoop? Nana Camp!

Hi, all!

Friday has come back around once more - and you know what that means! It's time to get our whoop whoop on!  Are you ready?  Let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*

Our church hosted Summer Jam this week (our version of Vacation Bible School) and Lilli attended as usual, which meant that I had the littles for Nana Camp!  It was a very fast week, with not much sewing and a whole lot of driving, but we had some fun times...

Every morning started off with breakfast, and I learned a little trick!  This is apparently the best way to clean off "donut fingers" - put all of them in your mouth at once!

The kiddos spent some quality time designing shapes with these shape tiles - good practice for designing quilts later!

Of course, there was some relaxing time...

...mixed in with some calisthenics!

And when you're at Nana's, of course you sew!!  They had a ball today making their very own "quilts", then cutting them up into smaller pieces.  I didn't have the heart to tell them they had the process all backwards.... 😊

We took some walks in the yard, too, and found this really awesome moth waiting for its wings to dry!

This guy was about two and a half inches long - just huge!  And a bright, bright orange and gray. So pretty!!

And I did get a little bit of not-quite-sewing in during my off times (few and far between this week) as I cut out the pieces for the Hipster Cat quilt!  I am really loving this!  Hopefully I'll have time to get it fused onto the backing tomorrow.  This guy is really cool!

So - - - can I get a whoop whoop??

*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*

And now it's your turn!

What's making you whoop it up this week?

What's got you doing a little happy dance?

Share!  We want to dance right along with you -
And it's always more fun to dance with friends!

The party will stay open until Sunday midnight.

Hope to see you there!

Hugs!

Sarah

  3. Ooo, I love that hipster cat and it looks like the "littles" had a grand time.

I had a busy week too...we went to Myrtle Beach last weekend for a car show, check on our new house being built and to visit friends. Once we got back home, we had friends traveling from FL to MD stop by for a 2 day visit. Needless to say I didn't get any sewing done but I did play with the layout for a commissioned tshirt quilt. I'm hoping this weekend will be much more productive!

  4. Maybe they were working on disappearing 9 patch quilts (stitch, cut, restitch). Or, maybe their dolls dolly's needed quilts, too. Creative is good!

  5. It looks like you had a nice time with the little ones. You can never get them quilting too early. That hipster cat looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for Whooping it up! --Andrea

  6. That moth was beautiful. Did you wait long enough to see the wings all dried and stretched out? I love the idea of "Nana Camp" so I might just have to borrow it but mine probably would be called "Tu-Na Camp." Thanks for hosting the linky party. Gosh, it looks by the number of links that I am late.

I finishes quilting my DWR and a QOV for the guild and have finalized plans for both a quilt retreat and an Alaskan cruise! ...but no blog post yet :-0 Soon, soon, I promise.
That's an amazing moth you found with the littles. Beautiful! Hope the wings dried ok.

  13. Luckily for the moth, cool cat is in fabric!
I'm at the grandkids' house, so there's nothing happening in my sewing room. Happily I got two full days of sewing before leaving home and I'll be back tomorrow. I'll get to sew, but I'll miss the snuggles.

  14. Nana camp sounds awesome! Can I come too! :) My nieces have always asked for Grandma camp from my Mom - usually it involves painting! My son and I do 'Mommy' camp which for us means lots of science! I think those 'extra' activities are so important for kids they teach so many things!
