Congratulations!! I'll be emailing you shortly to get your snail mail address and will get your goodies in the mail this week!
And now for some quilt-y sewing - which I actually got to do this week! I've been working on a memory quilt for a customer, and boy this one is big! I've had to work on it in sections - here's the upper left quadrant in progress...
Isn't that buffalo check fun? I used some of Connecting Threads' Quilter's Candy Basics - Patriot Blue and Provincial Blue in Swirls, and Chambray in Silver.
More progress shots - I told you this was a big quilt!
The shot below shows only two thirds of the quilt...
I finished the top on Thursday - and fortunately, it was dry and sunny outside, so I took it and spread it out on the ground to get a good picture!
For those who are curious, I print my photos on Crafter's Images photo fabric - it works great for me and I've used it on many memory quilts, both in color and in black and white. The pictures stay nice and clear even after washing.
So my task this weekend will be to get this quilt finished! I'm planning to do a simple straight line quilting on the diagonals, letting the buffalo checks shine.
So - - - - can I get a whoop whoop??
*&*&*&*&*&*&*
And now it's your turn!
What's got you whooping it up this week?
What's making you dance a little happy dance?
Share! We want to dance right along with you -
And it's always more fun to dance with friends!
The party will stay open until Sunday midnight -
Hope to see you there!
Hugs!
Sarah

ReplyDeleteSarah, That quilt is amazing. You did a fantastic job with photo placement, etc. That quilt is destined to be a keepsake. As always, thanks for hosting Can I Get a Whoop Whoop! Happy sewing! Andrea
ReplyDeleteThis is a very unique layout for a memory quilt. I like the buffalo check.
ReplyDeleteWhen I looked up Crafters Image, all the products indicated hand wash or dry clean only. But I assume to you referring to machine washing. Do they make a product I'm not seeing or have you discovered machine washing is ok?
what a great quilt so many photos you have added will mean so much to the owner. Have not tried printing photos on fabric, here at the moment there is a big push to sell threads which is a fabric that they say does not print the photo but soaks it right through, hope to see some at the quilt show next weekend
ReplyDeleteNow how fun is that?!?!? Love the buffalo plaid background!
ReplyDeleteSo cute quilt!
