Happy, happy new year! Even more than a Monday, a new year gives you the feeling of a clean slate, doesn't it? So many possibilities ahead of you - and sometimes that feeling can be overwhelming! And so we make lists. Maybe you call them resolutions - although there's so much pressure (and sometimes guilt) associated with resolutions! I like to think of them as goals. Maybe they'll get done, maybe they won't - but they give me something to aim for.
Here's my list of goals for 2019...
- 1 -
Keep working with my scraps to organize and use them.
- 2 -
Make at least two quilts using kits I have stashed away.
- 3 -
Create designs and tutorials for the Rockin' Rectangles Quilt-along (coming in late January).
- 4 -
Organize Hands2Help 2019.
- 5 -
Quilt some (many!) tops for the quilt ministry.
- 6 -
Finish at least two UFOs.
- 7 -
Create a pin for trading at QuiltCon 2019.
- 8 -
Design a quilt-along quilt for the 12 Days of Christmas in July Blog Hop.
- 9 -
Use at least half the strings in my (overflowing) string hamper.
- 10 -
Clean and organize my office area before Hands2Help!
This isn't nearly all-inclusive, but it's a good start! At least I can jump right in and not just spin my wheels wondering where to start.
Hugs!
Sarah
I don't make concrete goals-I like to do old projects and new ones throughout the year!
ReplyDeleteNo goals here for me....I'm figuring out what will come next in my life...but I'm looking forward to doing more sewing in 2019.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Sarah. Best of luck with your goals.
ReplyDeletefinish.....it's my word....with 37 UFOs and many other ideas percolating, it has to be FINISH!
ReplyDeleteI'm more of a ToDO list kind of gal than resolutions. I feel more freedom which helps keep me motivated but accountable. I'm looking forward to your rectangle projects! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteSarah, thank you! Thank you for all you do for others and the quilting community. I admire you and your commitment to others. I personally love your scrap enthusiasm and have used your tutorials. I also love your 12 days of Christmas when I get many good ideas. 2 years ago I made 3 Christmas quilts in July . This past year I made just one, which wasn’t your pattern but I still plan to make it. I figure being motivated by your blog hop is something that I look forward to and it helps me get through those Christmas scraps. Thank you! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a big list! If anyone can do it, you can. My resolution is to slow down so I don't burn out. Happy 2019!
ReplyDeleteYou've made a very reasonable list of goals. Only 2 UFO to finish? I'm sure you have a dozen if not two and yet you will be happy with 2, so will I. I want to finish my MIL table runner. It needs to be quilted and bound. I also want to finish Ohio Star Shadow which will be hand quilted, starting today, this evening for sure. Have a wonderful year, with lots of sewing time, laughter and health. ;^)
ReplyDeleteI like your goals... but there are too many for me. I'm going to try to play less video games, and sew more quilts.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year
Hugs
Great goals! I am a newbie for QuiltCon - what is the pin business? I was going to get my business cards updated but now I am wondering....it sounds like I should do something else.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, Happy New Year! You've got quite the list of goals but I have no doubt you'll tackle them. My goals this year are 1. Move to Myrtle Beach 2. Lose 20 pounds 3. Finish 3 UFOs and 4. Make quilts for me (not for commission). That's a good start and should keep me busy well in to June when I'll re-evaluate and reset a necessary :-) I hope you had a blast in HI!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year and Happy Sewing ahead for sure. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! Wow, I could *almost* adopt your list myself! =) I do have 12 UFOs on a list to move along. Some will be finished, and some just moved to the next step. I also plan to move one of my best friend's UFOs toward the completion point. 5.5 blocks are finished, so that's almost halfway already!
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah. I love how a new year gives us some time to reflect on what we want to concentrate on in the coming year. I have several projects I am looking forward to. I would like to start a series of baby blankets that I will machine quilt myself, then offer the patterns as free patterns on my blog. Also, I want to try to blog more often in 2019, I am always a bit ashamed of how sporadic I am with my writing, and reading. I greatly admire people like you who manages to write more often.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Sarah. Great goals. It always amazes me how much you get finished, and are involved in. Looking forward to H2H 2019.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year my friend. And happy 40th Anniversary. We are 5 years behind you.
ReplyDeleteI did make a list of goals. I forgot to list participate in hands2help, but I did put down charity quilting. You can read my list here https://kathyskwiltsandmore.blogspot.com/2018/12/2019-planning-party-for-quilts-and.html?m=1
I left goals and objectives behind when I retired. One thing I hope to do this year is rent time on the longarm at one of the LQS, so I can finish the two commission quilts that are hanging over my head. But that will have to wait until return from our winter trip to TX/FL.
ReplyDeletePat
I have two primary goals and a lot of little ones, but mainly I need to complete the guild's donation quilt I am working on to have finished for reveal at our July meeting. And, to get at least one quilt ready for our QuiltFest show in June. Like you, I'd like to make a couple of projects from my squirreled away kits! LOL Can you tell me more about the QuiltCon pin?? I hope to be able to go this year!
ReplyDeleteHappy New year! Love seeing other's goals as I start to focus on mine for the year!
ReplyDeleteThe more goals I set the less I complete them. Gonna try one at a time. Love that quilt you showed! Is there a pattern?
ReplyDeleteSome great goals! Wishing you the best in 2019
ReplyDeleteGreat goals... I think I need to read more goals of others and then steal their best ideas! You've got several that would definitely fit on my 2019 goal list.
