I May Have A Scrap Problem... Inspiration Time!

Hi, all!

Summer is hard upon us here in Tennessee - soaring temperatures make it easy to stay inside and sew!  I haven't had much time for scrappy sewing lately, but I have been finishing off some UFOs that are hanging around.  I have been seeing some beautiful inspiration on Instagram, though, and maybe that will kickstart some scrappy sewing again!

Apparently these blocks are addictive - this poster has two different quilts started!  Love those tiny squares...

Can you believe this was her first scrappy quilt?  Great design!

An interesting treatment for a plain scrappy charm quilt!  The dresden butterflies are a nice touch.

I love this idea for leftover t-shirt bits - and they could be used for re-usable shopping bags too!

Isn't this a great scrappy block?

It's easy to be inspired by Gee's Bend style quilts.  This one is a beautiful example!

And you know I'm a sucker for beautiful pillow covers - this one makes my heart sing!

But this - an absolutely gorgeous disappearing nine-patch quilt made with 2.5" squares - this may be my next scrappy project.  I've had my eye on this one for a long time!  And I have such a pile of 2.5" squares - all I'd need to cut would be the red center squares!

So - do you see anything that makes you itch to get to your sewing machine?

Hugs!

Sarah

  3. I follow a couple of these quilters, but you've given me a few new ones. Thanks for that. Those are interesting quilts but, man, such tiny pieces! That plaid looking one is the one that does it for me. But it's easy to love them all, right?

  8. I LOVE sue_a_gordon's quilt. She has a Private IG so I am unable to ask her myself but do you know what pattern it was?

    1. The pattern is "Plaid-ish" by Erica Jackman at Kitchen Table Quilting. I know because I've had my eye on it for as soon as I finish up a quilt with an obligation to finish. So many possibilities, but I am thinking Christmas fabric since plaid seems popular for that season. HTH
