Short weeks make Friday come in a hurry, don't they? So here's Friday, and you know what that means - - - it's time to get our whoop whoop on! I hope you're ready!! Let's get started...
You may recall seeing these blocks pop up on the blog and on my Instagram feed from time to time over the past six weeks or so...
Well, it's finally finished! This baby went on the frame for a couple of days while I dithered about how to quilt it, but I finally decided to just do a random medium curly meander all over it. After all, finished is better than perfect, right?
Here it is fresh off the frame and waiting to be trimmed...

The back is simple, but I like it!
I had the honor of finishing up this quilt which was started by one of the ladies I sew with at church. She had a stroke earlier this year and passed away a few weeks later, and her husband asked if someone would finish this quilt for him. I hope he loves it as much as I do! This is such a great pattern - I hope to make one of my own sometime soon.....

ReplyDeleteThat is a quilt anyone would be happy to have. I'm sure the hubby will be happy with it, to remember his wife with. All my holiday plans were tossed when hubby's car broke down while he was traveling to go hiking for the weekend. Had to drive to pick him up, wait for his tow truck to arrive (they were really late), then, the dealership we had it towed to, didn't have anyone to look at it until late on Tuesday, even though they had had it since Friday night. We finally got to pick it up yesterday morning (1.50 hours each way).
ReplyDeleteThis is a striking quilt. Great pattern and one where the fabric's movement shines. It was a wise decision to do a simple meander because the quilting seems secondary to the fabrics and design. Sarah, it was so kind of you to finish this up for the husband. He will treasure it.
