Hi, all!
It's finally Friday - and you know what that means! It's time to get our whoop whoop on! I've got something fun for today - a giveaway for two lucky readers! Let me introduce you to a new company and a great product...
*&*&*&*&*&*&*
Back in March, I became aware of a new company on Instagram called Stash Builder Box. I checked out their website, and really loved what I saw there! Stash Builder Box is a monthly quilting subscription box filled with fabric, patterns, notions and thread delivered to you each month for only $23.99 per month.
But the truly great part? 20% of the proceeds from every box purchase goes towards making quilts for kids in need!
When your box arrives, you peel off the little gold seal, open the lid and this is what you see....
Dig deeper, and this is what you find - isn't it packaged prettily?
Now, I'm going to keep the exact contents of this box secret, because one lucky reader will be receiving it, and I think half the fun on subscription boxes is not knowing what's inside before you open it! I will tell you, though, that each box contains six fat eighths of fabric, thread, two patterns, and a goody bag filled with a few surprises.
This is a great way to build your stash (I think the name gives this away!) but also to experiment with prints or colors you might not normally choose for yourself. The patterns are well-written and I know I want to use both of the ones I've seen! And who can't use more thread and notions? If you sign up by June 14th at 9 pm MST, you will receive June's box in your first shipment. And they will ship worldwide! Plus here's a bonus - you can use the code SBBFIRSTBOX to get $3 off your first box!
*&*&*&*&*&*&*
But this company goes way beyond just your ordinary subscription box. As it states, it is "the box with a cause". Amanda Kelly, the owner and creator of Stash Builder Box, turns 20% of the proceeds from each box into quilts that go to children who are sick, traumatized, or otherwise in need. Right now, they are creating quilts for the My Stuff Bags Foundation, which provides comfort and a message of hope to abused and neglected children entering crisis and foster care through its unique program, My Stuff Bags. My Stuff Bags are bright blue individual duffels filled with brand new personal items and a warm, often hand-made "security" blanket - all theirs to keep. Packed with items they desperately need as they adjust to their new surroundings, My Stuff Bags provide things to do and to hold during this difficult time. It is one of the few organizations providing rescued children nationwide with new belongings in duffels that they can keep.
Such a great idea, and it really speaks to my heart! And a truly wonderful part of this is that you can become involved, even beyond subscribing to Stash Builder Box! By filling out a simple Application Form, you can join the team and become a Heart Builder, contributing your time, energy and sewing machine to help start and finish quilts. Whether you are a piecer or a quilter, there is something for you. Your skills can help transform lives! Amanda has a very easy turn-around policy for quilt tops and only sends them at your request, so it's super easy to be involved. Being a Heart Builder is being directly involved with the donated quilts and it's a great way to give back to those in need.
*&*&*&*&*&*&*
And now that you know a little bit about Stash Builder Box, here's the fun part! I have two boxes to give away - May's box, which is pictured above, and June's box, which will start shipping after June 14th. And how do you get in on this giveaway? It's simple! Choose any or all of the following ways to enter...
Leave a comment on this blog! Tell me one fun thing you plan to do this weekend, and be sure to leave your email address so I can contact you if you win!
Visit the Stash Builder Box website and take a look around, then come back here and leave a comment telling me you did.
Visit the Stash Builder Box page on Facebook and Like them, then come back here and leave a comment telling me you did.
Followers of this blog get one more entry! Let me know how you follow in your comment.
And if you fill out an application to become a Heart Builder,
you'll get two extra entries!
So there it is - easy peasy! The entries will stay open until Sunday midnight, and I'll announce the two winners on Monday, June 13th!
I think that's worth a whoop whoop - don't you?
*&*&*&*&*&*&*
And now it's your turn!
What's got you whooping it up this week?
What's making you dance a happy dance?
Share - we want to dance right along with you -
And it's more fun to dance with friends!
The party will stay open until Sunday midnight.
Hope to see you there!
Hugs!
Sarah

Oh Sarah, you've done it again--you made my heart sing with your post today! I love having an outlet for charity quilts, esp. kids. I am spending this weekend getting ready for our Vacation Bible School starting on Sunday, plus our son is coming home for a visit. The house isn't clean but the AC is on & the frig is full. What more could you ask for?!!
ReplyDeleteI visited the Stash Builder Box website & looked around--how dangerous, knowing you can get more fabric automatically sent to you--haha! They have lots of fun stuff, which would be a fun present to me, I'm sure!
