Make-A-List Monday - Sleighbells Ring, Are You Listening?

Hi, all!

The last Monday before Christmas - can you believe it?  I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I'm hoping most of you are, too.  Let's see how last week's list went!

1.  Make the blocks for the t-shirt commission quilts.
2.  Start piecing the t-shirt commission quilts.
Done and done!

3.  Make two large floor pillows for a friend.
Done and delivered!

4.   Work on three quick sewing projects for gifts.
Done!  I had a lot of fun making several of these cowls...

5.  Work on a special art project for a gift.
In progress - but it's a secret!

6.  Keep working on some knitted projects for gifts.
Done!  I don't have new pictures, but I'll take some on Christmas and share them next Monday!  In the meantime, here's my cute little assistant trying one on for size...

7.  Mail some out of town packages.
Done!  I'm so happy to have that particular chore out of the way...

8.  Keep up with any quilt ministry needs that come up.
Done!  We gave away several quilts this week...

This quilt went to a woman with cancer...

...and this quilt went to an elderly woman in a nursing home.

This quilt went to a gentleman in the same nursing home.

This quilt went to a woman dealing with Crohn's disease...

...and this quilt went to a woman with breast cancer in Louisiana.

This quilt went to a woman just diagnosed with uterine cancer...

This quilt went to a police officer in our community who was shot while on duty this week.

And this quilt went to a woman who lost her husband recently.

Whew!  That was actually more quilts than I thought we gave out - during the holidays, it seems like it's either feast or famine.  But it's wonderful to have completed quilts on hand to be able to give out on a moment's notice!

So here's this week's list, as I wrap up my Christmas sewing and get started on some new projects...

1.  Quilt and bind the three commission quilts.

2.  Wrap up all the Christmas gifts.

3.  Plan a Christmas Eve brunch as we start a new family tradition!

4.  Keep working on designs for this year's pre-H2H event, Stunning Stars!

5.  Pull together info and bloggers for next year's Twelve Days of Christmas in July blog hop!

6.  Keep up with any quilt ministry needs that come up.

Truthfully, I will be happy as a clam if I can just get the three commission quilts finished this week!  They're not due until the first of the year, but I really want that week between Christmas and New Years to get my studio in shape for the next year - and I'm getting some new shelves at IKEA this year to spruce the joint up!

So now the question is - - - what are YOU working on this week?

Hugs!

Can I Get a Whoop Whoop? Santa's Been A-Sewin'...

Hi, all!

Oh. My. Gosh.  Is it really only ten more days until Christmas?  If you're like me, you're working frantically trying to get projects done in time - please tell me I'm not alone!  But I have worked on a few things that I'm whooping about this week - let's get started!

The back of my quilt frame holds most of my week's output...

...like these fun and toasty warm cowls...

...a couple of floor pillows for a friend (they even have zippers!)...

...and three sets of t-shirt quilt blocks that I finished this afternoon! I''m glad to have that part of the job out of the way - it's my least favorite part and always seems to go slowly.  Tomorrow I'll be cutting the background for the first quilt and putting it together!

I've also been having fun with yarn this week - including making this little scarf that Emmy will be getting for Christmas - because she "wuvs" it!  In fact, she "wuvved" it so much she wanted to try it on before it was off the needles!

I also started hearing from people who want to participate in another 12 Days of Christmas in July blog hop!  I'm so excited!  If you want to be a stop on the hop this coming July, leave a comment below and I'll get in touch with you...

I'm happy to have made this much progress this week!  It's pedal to the metal time now - got lots to finish up!!

Can I get a whoop whoop??

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

And now it's your turn!

What's making you whoop it up this week?

What's got you dancing a little happy dance?

Share!  We want to dance right along with you -
And it's always more fun to dance with friends!

The party will stay open until Sunday midnight -

Hope to see you there!

Hugs!

I May Have a Scrap Problem.... #butimworkingonit

Hi, all!

Wow - only about ten days until Christmas, and it's busy busy busy around my house!  But I can multi-task while I eat leftovers for lunch and share what I've been working on and what I've seen while out and about this week!

First of all, I managed to finish all three of the beach blankets made from my leftover t-shirt backs!

I'm so happy I managed to get these done for my friend before Christmas!  In this picture you can see the back and quilting - a simple muslin back and stitch in the ditch quilting, no batting and a scrappy binding to finish it off!

And when I was cleaning off my sewing table this morning to start on a new project, I found four little lonely strips all cut and pressed to be made into Scandinavian Star ornaments, so I put one more together just for me!

That's pretty much all the creating I've done in a scrappy way - but while surfing I found these pretty inspirations!

Coin quilts are a great way to use up scrappy rectangles, and I love the narrow gray strips and occasional gray rectangles in this version!

Oh my goodness, isn't this amazing???  So simple - rectangles twice as long as they are wide make up this quilt.  It looks complicated, but it's really a simple block!

Kristy, this quilt makes my heart sing!  I love the colors, the text prints, all the scrappy little strips - perfect!!!

This quilt isn't billed as a scrappy quilt, but I can totally envision it that way, can't you?  All those low volume scraps hanging out in your tubs are just screaming to be used in something this pretty!

I love the addition of the friendship stars in this scrappy quilt - what a perfect gift for a housewarming!

And one final Christmas quilt to round it out!  This would be a great way to make a serious dent in my Box O' Shame - the Christmas fabric scraps that have been hanging around for years and years!

And speaking of Christmas, is there any interest in having another 12 Days of Christmas in July blog hop?  Specifically, would YOU be interested in being one of the stops on the hop?  Now's the time to start thinking about it, while Christmas is on the brain and all those projects you wish you had time to do are still fresh in your imagination.  So speak up if you want to be a stop, or even if you just want to enjoy it again this year!  If there's enough interest, I'll start pulling it together again.

Keep plugging away at those scraps - you are making a dent, I know it!!

 Hugs!
