It's Friday again, and boy, am I ready to WHOOP IT UP!! I hope you are too!!
Why am I whooping, you ask? Well, while we're at the top of the blogpost, let's look at the simplest one.... take a look at the header of the blog. Nice picture, right? Notice anything missing from the last time you saw it? Like a huge telephone pole and three bright yellow guy wires in the background? That's been bugging me ever since I posted that picture, but until recently, I didn't know how to get them out of there. Thanks to Photoshop Elements, now I do - and they're gone!! Just in case you don't remember the previous version, here it is...
It's so much nicer without them, isn't it? Okay, so that's my little whoop.
And now for the BIG WHOOP - - - my Etsy shop is finally open!!!
You can find me at FabricAddictQuilts.etsy.com, or just click the button at the top right of the blog. It's not a huge shop, but certainly a start, with...
...a few quilts...
...design journal covers large and small...
...some pincushions...
...and computer sleeves!
Some fun little things I've enjoyed making and hope to be able to sell! I'm hoping to add a quilter's apron to the mix - a little design that's been rolling around in my head, but I haven't had time to get made up yet. I'm looking forward to having an apron to keep the "marks of my trade" - the little bits of thread - from sticking to my clothes!
And now, to celebrate the opening of my shop, I'm going to have a little giveaway!! You can win your choice of a pincushion like the one pictured above in your choice of colors, or a design journal very similar to the one pictured above, with three graph paper journals to fill it with! International participants are welcome, too!
How can you join in the fun? It's simple - join in the fun!
For one entry, link up your own Friday whoop whoop below. For newbies, it doesn't have to be a finish - just something you're proud of accomplishing this week!
For a second entry, visit my shop, then come back here and leave a comment telling me your favorite item in the shop, or a suggestion for something you'd like to see there.
For a third entry, pin your favorite item in the shop to Pinterest, then come back here and let me know you did!
For a fourth entry, let me know you're a follower of my blog!
Leave a separate comment for each thing you choose to do (except linking up - your link will be your entry for that option!)
And if you don't like to jump through hoops, and don't want to link up with the whoop whoop party, just leave a comment telling me what types of things you like to buy handmade....
Please be sure that you aren't a "no-reply" blogger!
If I don't respond to your comment, it's because
there's no e-mail contact for you - so leave an
e-mail address in your comment
if you have any doubt about it!
Simple! I'll pick a winner next Thursday, March 14th, and announce it on next Friday's Whoop Whoop post!!
This giveaway is also linked up with the Beat The Winter Blues Quilter's Blog Hop Party...
Hop over there and join in the fun!
^*^<*>^*^
And now it's your turn!
What are you whooping about this week?
What has you dancing the happy dance?
Inquiring minds want to know - we want to join in the dance!
So link up to the party - it's easy!
The party will remain open until Thursday, March 14th.
(A little longer this week because of the giveaway!)
Be there or be square!!
Hugs!
Sarah
Linking up with Fabric Tuesday at Quilt Story! Go check it out!!
Congratulations on your shop opening! You've got some lovely things in there so I hope it does well. I like your journal covers and also your pin cushions. What about adding some glasses cases or maybe some little purses? All the best.
ReplyDeleteI'm a blog follower - very clever to photoshop out your electric poles (even though I hadn't noticed them before!).
ReplyDeleteI am a happy follower :)
ReplyDeleteSusanne
I like your yellow iPhone sleeve. I think those little cute items sell better than big ones.
ReplyDeleteSusanne
Just pinned the iPhone pouch :)
ReplyDeleteSusanne
And of course I linked my Whoop whoop project.

ReplyDeleteI love your pincushions!
ReplyDeleteI follow you, BTW, I had two posts I entered for a whoop whoop this week, so you can count them as one entry not two.

ReplyDeleteI "pinned" your pin cushion! LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm a happy follower!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your shop - I love your criss-cross baby quilt!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your shop!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture without the telephone lines - it's the perfect setting now!
Modern Rainbow Baby Quilt is my fave :)
ReplyDeleteI follow you. JAne
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your shop opening and for figuring out how to remove the pole and wires. Two great accomplishments this week!!
ReplyDeleteI am a follower! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt was a hard choice, but I think I like the Modern Rainbow Baby Quilt best. Something about those colors just struck me. All beautiful items, though! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower and love your blog.
ReplyDeleteI love and pinned your pincushion from your shop.
ReplyDeleteGood for you on both fronts - photo-shopping and etsy shop! I really like the 1930's pincushion.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I like the Ric Rac Rabbit baby quilt and the baby quilt using Kate Spain fabrics best. Especially Ric Rac. They are absolutely gorgeous! Beautifully quilted!
ReplyDeleteWhen someone has a baby, they NEED baby quilts, blankets, receiving blankets. "Must Have" items. And they need several. When invited to a shower, I have found that those are TRULY appreciated gifts, especially hand made ones :D
How wonderful Sarah! I wish you all the best and great success in your shop!
ReplyDeleteI pinned your Modern Rainbow Baby Quilt to Pinterest :*)
ReplyDeleteAnd of course I'm a follower!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy following your blog and having the opportunity to link up and see what other quilters have accomplished. Thanks! Congratulations on your new shop!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower of your blog. Congratulations on opening your shop.

I am a follower!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the shop, I am a follower!
ReplyDeleteLove your etsy shop. The pin cushions are adorable.
ReplyDeleteWhoop! Whoop! on opening your shop! I will be going to look at your pretty creations!
ReplyDeleteI have linked up again today and thank you for running this lovely linky party. I added the pillow I finished for a blog hop.
The new header picture is much nicer ... although I really only saw the pretty quilt in the old one, so I never noticed the telephone pole in the green leafy background. I shall have to try some photo editing like this ... thanks for sharing ... :) Pat
I really like the small journal cover with the graph paper. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteI like to mostly sew quilts. I rarely make bags or small items for holding things like Ipods and phones so I do occasionally buy these as gifts. I have looked at phone caddies for my daughter's smart phone online and have not really found one I liked. I think it would have to have a closed pocket and an arm strap and a place to tuck in her IDs securely, as she is a runner ... just an idea, since you asked for ideas, and are sew creative and crafty ... :) Pat
Linked up a Whoop Whoop - thanks for the party!
ReplyDeleteI never noticed the pole and wires until now, lol. Nice that you could edit them out though. Hooray for your etsy shop! I'm going to poke around over there right after this.
ReplyDeleteThings I like to buy handmade. Little things, pouches, etc. I really need a new eyeglass case at the moment.
Love your shoppe! I do have a suggestion though. I think you should show the whole quilt, and some of the back, as well. I wouldn't want to buy anything that I hadn't at lease seen.
ReplyDeleteI wish you lots of sales... I'm going to suggest your shop to some of my family who always want me to make them another quilt - like they are the only people in my family.
Hugs
Ooh, I like the pin cushion pair in your shop!
ReplyDeleteFollower too!
ReplyDeleteHey, Sarah, I love the "fixed" picture. Someday I will get photoshop, too. Good job! I am already a follower.

ReplyDeleteOh and just for the record: I'm a follower :o)
I came to visit your blog after checking out your new etsy shop. I didn't notice the quilting at the etsy shop but I did here and all I could think was "BEAUTIFUL!" and "My aunt did that!" :) Congrats on the store! I'm going to share a link of Facebook now.

ReplyDeleteA journal cover would be perfect for me! I went to your Etsy shop to take a closer look at how you made it - - are those your quilting lines in the pink fabric, or is that a print. If it's a print, do you remember the name of that fabric??? I think it's terrific!
ReplyDeleteI'm crazy about your pincushions! I like to buy handmade and have purchased jewelry and toy items on etsy. I wish you the best! You have such a nice variety of pretty things.
