Friday has rolled around once more, and you know what that means - it's time to get our whoop whoop on! I'm really excited to see what everyone has been working on this week - so let's get started!
*&*&*&*&*&*&*
I've got a bunch of projects I'm working on, and no finishes this week, but I do have some fun things I'm whooping about!
I'm whooping about the fact that I didn't lose my favorite purple, fleece-lined, warm and fuzzy socks! I could not find them this morning and was totally bummed - but then I looked in a few odd places and found them! Whoop!!
I'm whooping because I love seeing guys who aren't afraid to use a long arm! This is Tommy, one of the members of our quilt ministry, quilting his gorgeous red quilt.
I'm whooping because I love love love my new ironing station! It's directly behind me when I'm sitting at my sewing machine, and all I have to do is swivel my stool around to press each step in the blocks I'm making! But no worries - I do get up after finishing each block to put it on the design wall, so I won't lose circulation!
And I'm definitely whooping because I managed to finish all sixty-four blocks for this commission quilt today! No, there aren't really flowers on there, but I have to hide the pictures so that the ultimate recipient won't be forewarned...
The Polaroid blocks are a lot of fun - any interest in a tutorial?
And one more thing, since we're talking about socks - do you remember Savannah's Sweet Sixteen Sock Drive? The current sock count is - - - 7,306! Isn't that amazing? And there's still ten more days to go. I can't wait to see how many socks she ends up with!
So that's what I'm excited about this week -
can I get a whoop whoop?
*&*&*&*&*&*&*
And now it's your turn!
What's making you whoop it up this week?
What's got you dancing the happy dance?
Share - we want to dance with you -
And it's always more fun to dance with friends!
The party will stay open until Sunday midnight.
Hope to see you there!
Hugs!
Sarah
Another great top finished, I love a Polaroid quilt - Chris :D
ReplyDeleteYes please Sarah for a tutorial. I only did a photo transfer quilt as a label on a few quilts in the past; this would make a great label!
ReplyDeleteI messed up on my link so tried again but I couldn't delete it from the first try.
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt design and yes it is nice to see a guy quilting
Tommy quilting is the best! Good for him quilting his own quilt! I've been noticing the daisies and can't wait to see this one revealed!
ReplyDeleteAll great things to be excited about! I'm especially excited about the sock count. That is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love that you have a quilting ministry! What a beautiful way to give back.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finding your socks! I have lost my favorite hair barrette and haven't had any luck finding it yet this week. :(
ReplyDeleteFirst, kudos on the cute title for your post! Made me smile. Love the guy quilting--kudos to him for being so brave. The Polaroid quilt is awesome...can't wait for the big reveal. A tutorial isn't necessary for me, but I'm sure there are many who would appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteWhew! Glad you found your favorite socks. That would be a tragedy over here! Good job on the man quilting. I love that he wants to get in there and quilt his own quilt. I'm seeing more and more of that and it's fantastic! Congrats on finishing the Polaroid quilt blocks... That's a lot of blocks! It looks great!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you found your fuzzy socks. :) I have a pair that sit at my front door; my Mama wears them when she comes over to visit. She likes her toes to be comfy. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm stunned by the number of socks Savannah has received - that is so wonderful! I'd love a tutorial for the Polaroid blocks!! Can't wait to see the commissioned quilt finished - it's going to be a beauty! I'm whooping it up here in Oahu with my daughter - warm and wonderful on the beach!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust sent a sock order to Robin. Some will be on time but some will be back-ordered. Boo hoo.
ReplyDeleteThat polaroid quilt is awesome! So playful!!!
