Hi, all!!
Sunday has rolled around again - and it's time to think about the Hands2Help challenge!! So many of you have been talking about working on your H2H quilts - and I've even received one Canadian blogger's quilt for quilting!
So here's your chance to link up and show what you've been working on, or leave a comment telling everyone how it's going! You can even link to an earlier post if you want....
I'll confess right now, I haven't started working on mine - I've been swamped with ministry quilt needs, so I've been negligent on the H2H front. But I hope to correct that in the next week or so!
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
Now, though, I want to show you something gorgeous that I received in the mail last week....
Isn't that beautiful? Quilt blogger, honorary quilt ministry member and fellow H2Her Sharon of Vrooman's Quilts pieced this gorgeous quilt, and then sent it to another H2Her, Sue of Sue Daurio's Quilting Adventures, for quilting! Look at this beautiful piecing and quilting...
I have long admired Sharon's mad piecing skills, but I'd never had a chance to see Sue's quilting up close - and now that I have, I am so impressed! I really want to be able to quilt like that someday!! I took this quilt to church Wednesday night to show the ladies in my sewing group what "real" quilting looks like!!
This quilt now hangs in a place of honor in my house, in my dining room where we all meet to sew once a month, and proclaims to everyone who comes in my house, "A Quilter Lives Here!" Thank you so much, Sharon and Sue - I am humbled and totally unworthy of this beautiful quilt, but I will cherish it forever!!!
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
OK - so now it's your turn. Link up a blogpost or leave a comment telling how your H2H quilt is progressing! Those of us who haven't even started yet want to know we're not alone, plus we want to see what everyone else is working on!! You have until next Sunday, 4/22 to link up......
And be sure to check back next Sunday, when Miki Willa of Miki's Fabric Creations will be our guest blogger!!
Hugs!
Sarah
I have to confess that I haven't started my H2H quilt yet. Being away from home for 11 days did set me back a bit, but it was worth it, and I have a plan. That is a good first step.
ReplyDeleteSarah, thank you for sharing the quilt here, today. I still cry when I see it - I cried each time Sue showed me an update photo. She is truly a master, although she won't admit it. You just deserved a quilt with so many you lovingly pass on.
ReplyDeleteSharon did such and incredible job on that quilt. It was a pleasure to quilt. A pleasure because it was Sharon's and because it was going to you. I agree with Sharon, you give so many away and touch so many, you needed one too. On the H2H side, I have one quilt completely done, two tops done and the last top in progress. Wow!! I can't stop :)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely is that quilt that you received! The piecing and the quilting are both wonderful! It is so fitting that someone who does so much for other should receive something back occassionally! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt and the quilting. I am sitting here staring at mine trying to decide how to quilt it. Mine will not be as perfect because I am still learning on the new machine. Thank you Sarah again for hosting such a wonderful project.
ReplyDeleteWow...Sharon V and Sue really make a great team. Super job gals!!
ReplyDeleteAn AWESOME quilt...made lovingly with GREAT talents...given to an AWESOME lady full of loving talents herself!
ReplyDeletehugZ,
annie
What a *spectacular* quilt! Sharon and Sue are both so incredibly talented. Just amazing! Sarah, you certainly deserve it for all the great work you do!
ReplyDeleteMy H2H rows are done but not ironed or sewn together yet. Hoping yo be able to link up with a finished flimsy pic within the next few days.
That is a very beautiful quilt and the quilting is magnificent!
ReplyDeleteAs far as my H2H quilt... well, I have it about 1/2 cut and the backing/binding chosen- although, we all know those choices could change at any time.
Have a great day!
That is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteMy blocks are pieced and waiting to be sashed together.
I have not started mt quilts yet. It has been a busy month. My husband will be leaving at the end of this month to deploy to Turkey for 2 months so I will have more time to work on projects then!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great quilt! The piecing and the quilting are both amazing!!
ReplyDeleteOMG!! Sharon and Sue did a fabulous
ReplyDeletejob on the quilt. I'll have to bring something to your house so I can see it.
Wow! What a beauty! I am sure that made your heart sing so much!!!
ReplyDeleteI've not started, and I'm telling you I should have not signed up. I just don't know if I can do this Sarah. I am un-committing myself from henceforth....(but I'll still do it if I get the time. Fabric and pattern picked out and ready. Other things have to come first though.)
Lovely quilt from Sharon!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Thanks for sharing the quilt. Beautiful! I have the fabric cut and ironed for my H2H quilt. I was on vacation all last week...so was not able to work on my project. I need to start sewing! Have a great week! :)
ReplyDeleteA truly beautiful gift of love from Sharon and Sue to such a sweet and generous lady that thinks and gives so much of her time and gifts of love to others.
ReplyDeleteI have a quilt that just needs quilting and binding, but I need to go back and check the sizes to make sure it fits the parameters. If it's a no-go, then I have another quilt top that I'm still piecing away on. :)
ReplyDeleteI sent my quilt to Sarah today. One more thing checked off my list!
ReplyDeleteWow! To say I had trouble with the linky tool would be understating it! Sorry about the multiple links, I had no idea they were going through because all I got were a bunch of error messages. I will do better next time. Sorry again!
