Make-A-List Monday #63! I love rainy days....

Hi, all!

Rain, glorious rain!  That was the sound I heard when I woke up this morning - granted, to two soaking wet dogs who love me dearly and wanted to show me, but it's a great sound to hear.  It was cooler today than it has been since May - and it's supposed to be cool all week!  Woohoo!!  Fortunately, we haven't had the flooding rains that other parts of the country have had, and it's not raining enough to keep us inside all the time, so it's been a pleasant change.

But enough about our weather - what did I get done last week?

1. Bind the latest quilted ministry quilt.
Done!  You've probably already seen this, but here it is...

2.  Quilt the third ministry quilt for the family that lost their wife and mother unexpectedly.
Done!  You'll have to take my word on this one, as it's in the dryer right now - I'll show it Wednesday on the ministry update..

3.  Quilt a ministry quilt for a husband and wife going through a difficult time.
A real- and blog-friend of mine, Diane, took this one and should be bringing it back this evening - we'll show it Wednesday too!

4.  Sandwich the quilt for the silent auction.
I think I'm going to hand quilt this one, too!
Done - and I've made it through about 3/4 of the quilting, too...

5.  Make my bee block for August
(preferably before August is over!)
Done, and mailed!  Woohoo!!

6.  Make a sample top for 100 Quilts For Kids!
I didn't get to this one, but I hope to do it first thing tomorrow...

OK, that's how I did last week.  Not too bad, but not as much as I would have liked. Thank heavens for friends who step in to help!!

Here's what's on tap for this week...

1.  Make that sample top for 100 Quilts for Kids!

2.  Finish the silent auction quilt.

3.  Finish at least two more ministry quilts.

4.  Photograph and organize recent donations to the quilt ministry.

5.  Cut kits for our 100 Quilts For Kids challenge!

OK, I'm stopping there - that's plenty to keep me busy this week and if I get more than that done, woohoo!

So - - - what are you working on this week?

And does fall inspire you to work harder, or make you want to sit back, put your feet up, and watch the leaves turn???  ;-)

Later!

Can I get a Whoop-Whoop?? Baby Steps....

Hi, all!

Friday again - doesn't it feel like the summer has just flown by?  But at least we get to look forward to those beautiful cooler fall days.  And that means more sewing, at least for me!

I didn't get so much done this week - a few little finishes like this bee block....

...which was really so much fun and so simple I may make some more...

....and this quilt got finished up and delivered for the quilt ministry...

...and I'm working on hand quilting this pretty Kate Conklin design, Scattered Showers...

I picked out a blue and a green hand quilting thread, and I'm stitching 1/4" around each colored block.  I think it's going to look great - but I've got just over a week to get it done!  What was I thinking!  But hopefully next Friday this will be my big finish....

So what have you  been working on this week?  Start, finish, or somewhere in between - share with us!  We want to cheer you on!!  You can link up until Saturday at midnight - so come join the party!  It's time to do a little whoop-whooping!!

Later!

Make-A-List Monday #58! Getting back to normal.....

Hi, all!

Monday again - and I feel like things are maybe getting back to normal a little!  Of course, it feels a little strange without Lilli around, but I did get a lot done today - a couple of friends came over and helped me sort through a big stack of boxes full of donated fabric this morning!  My stash wall is beautifully organized and FULL - and unfortunately, so are the bins of scraps to be cut - but that's a job for another day!

So how did I do on last week's list?  Let's see....

1.  Finish those bee blocks!
I did, I did finish those bee blocks!
And put them in the mail, too!

2.  Put a border on Lilli's quilt.
Got this one done, too!  Woohoo!!

3.  Make a back for Lilli's quilt.
Wait a minute!  What fool put this on the list.....
oh wait, that was me..... oops.....

4.  Get the local Hands2Help quilts in the mail!
Done!  This beautiful stack of goodness
is on its way to Utah!

5. Finish all the admin work for the Hands2Help challenge!
Finally all done!  Except for the giveaway drawings -
and that's the easy part!

6.  Quilt at least one more ministry quilt.
Done!  Take a look at this pretty quilt....
It was made using blocks donated by Megan of Crooked Seams!  The binding still needs to be sewn down, but then it's ready for a new home...

So all in all, last week went pretty well!  But what's in store for this week?

1.  Make a back for Lilli's quilt! (Yes, really!)

2.  Quilt at least two more ministry quilts.

3.  Hand-sew the binding on two ministry quilts.

4.  Make backs (or con someone else into making backs)
for the eight ministry quilt tops that are ready for quilting!

5.  Sort through and cut down at least one tub of scraps.

Yes, it's ambitious - but remember, I'm toddlerless all the time now - and I've got to do something to fill my days!  Clean house or quilt - tough choice, but someone's got to do it!!

So what are you working on this week?

Hugs!

Sarah

PS - be sure to stop in over at The Intrepid Thread - it's her two-year blogiversary and she's having a fabulous giveaway to celebrate!!!  Woohoo!!

Can I get a Whoop-Whoop?? Partway Done.....

Hi, all!

I hope you've had a good week - it's been kind of strange here, with very little adult conversation (the hubs is out of town) - I've started talking to the dogs and they're beginning to look at me a little strangely.......

(Disclaimer: These aren't my dogs - MY dogs won't sit still for pics!)

But amidst all that, I did manage to get a few tops quilted...

Like this one, made with blocks donated by the lovely Megan...

And here's another made with blocks from Megan...

And this pretty top, pieced by my friend Cassie!

And I made these two bee blocks for TraceyPNW....

Sorry about the colors - indoor shots - but the solids are Kona Ash on the top block and Kona Coal on the bottom block.  She asked for HST blocks, our choice - fun!!

So that's what I've been working on this week - now it's your turn!  What have you been doing?  Remember, it doesn't have to be a finish (obviously, or I'd have nothing to show!) so share your progress!!!  Remember you've got until midnight Saturday to link up - and be sure to give out some whoop whoops to your fellow linkers - bring a smile to someone's face today!!

Later!

Sarah

PS - be sure to check out the giveaway going on over at Green Fairy Quilts!!
