Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Truck-or-Treat!

Hi, all!

Friday is here once again (how does that keep happening?) and it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!  Are you ready?  I am - can't wait to share what I've been teasing about for the past week or so... Let's go!

You may remember the things I've been making lately...

...a giant pincushion, pins and needle...

...and a giant tape measure!

Well, here's what those things were for...

My husband wanted to use his truck instead of my car, and since he came up with the theme, it only seemed fair!

In case you haven't figured it out yet, our theme was "Alice in Quilterland"...

My mom's Featherweight made an appearance, too...

And of course, I had to print out one of these to go on our candy basket!

I am so grateful that there is a wealth of graphics on the internet available to be printed out - it really helped us flesh out our "Alice" theme!  And for those of you who asked about the giant tape measure, I made it using 4" wide yellow ribbon and a black sharpie.  My marks are 1" apart and measure 1", 1.5",  2", and 4" long.  Quilting rulers really made this an easy task!  Oh, and the calligraphy doodling I've been doing lately - although you could probably trace the numbers on, too.

And one last thing I'm whooping about this week - my husband got me this cool saddle stool for my birthday!  I saw one like this at the AQS show in Paducah but even on show special prices it seemed a bit expensive. Amazon is a wonderful place!  My hubby saved about $100 over the show price.  It's adjustable, too - it goes from table height to counter height easily, and rolls everywhere.  I used it while spending a day cutting, I've been using it while piecing, and I plan to give it a try when I do some quilting at the long arm.  It's definitely helped with upper and lower back pain so far! Plus it's a lot softer to sit on than my hard stool...

So - - - can I get a whoop whoop?

And now it's your turn!

What's got you whooping it up this week?

What's making you do a little happy dance?

Share!  We want to dance right along with you,

And it's always more fun to dance with friends!

The party will stay open until Sunday midnight.

Hope to see you there!

  1. What a clever "trunk!" Such a great idea!

  2. Great ideas and makes for your 'Alice in Quilterland'! I definitely need a different chair - for my back. Maybe time to update. Your chair looks so cool, will need to check this out :)!

  3. Absolutely incredible trunk display!!!! You made it amazingly creative! I am drooling over your saddle stool!!!!

  4. Sarah, you've outdone yourself. The Alice in Wonderland themed trunk or treat was amazing!!! Love it!!!

  5. I love the measuring tape. Thank you for the post on the saddle chair, I've wondered how comfy there were. Thank you for the linky party.

  6. I love your trunk! Very original! And that stool...hmmm...would mom like one of those for Christmas? (It's a chair the cats would likely not steal when she got up from the machine!) Definitely worth some investigative work...

  7. The display is incredible. I had not heard of a saddle chair. I am curious now to try one out.

  8. What a wonderful theme!! I bet you got lots of visitors. The tape would be a cute sewing room decoration. It all would be great!

  9. That is the coolest trunk or treat set up I have ever seen!! Just amazing!!!

  10. Sarah, thank you for sharing your stool. I've been looking for one that would easily switch heights. Can you tell me the brand name? Thanks so much :-)

  11. Oh, Sarah, love that truck or treat theme. Sew out of the box!!

  12. Whoop whoop for a new chair! Well done on the decorations.

  13. How cool is that! What a great idea and so uniquely carried out.

  14. Your trunk or treat idea is awesome!! Thanks for sharing! Congrats on your saddle chair! I looked at those and decided I might just wind up on the floor (LOL) so I got a drafter's chair that I use at my longarm and am going to be getting one for my sewing studio too! I think you'll love your chair at the longarm.

  15. Live your Halloween trunk theme, especially that pincushion! I looked at your stool on amazon and saw one by Grace and Grace. Is that the one? Looks like an awesome tool to have. I use a hard stool in the kitchen sobunderstand the need for a cushy tushy!

  16. Love your truck or treat props! I just did something sort of like this for a storefront window that showcases our guild. I wish I'd had this post last month. That tape measure is my fav but they are all fantastic!
