Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Big News!! And A Winner!!

Hi, all!

It's Friday again - and you know what that means!  It's time to get our whoop whoop on!   It's been a big week, and I've got several pieces of news to share - but here's the one that many people have been waiting for

The time for entries has closed and the Random Number Generator chose #22 - - - which means that the winner of this beautiful quilt is Krista Hahn!  Congratulations, Krista!  Thanks to everyone who participated, through donating, sharing, or commenting - you've brought us a little bit closer to the end goal of bringing Nathanael home!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

And now for our huge whoop whoop this week...

My daughter and son-in-law have finally received their Letter of Approval from China!!  Which means I can finally show you our grandson

Meet Nathanael Jude!

Isn't he a handsome young man?

These were some of the earliest pictures we had - lots of different moods, but almost always a great big smile.

And it looks like he loves hats as much as his little sister!

The next major step will be the authorization to travel to China, probably in the next two months.  But there's lots of money to raise between now and then to cover the cost of travel.  So we'll be plenty busy!  Plus, I've still got to make the quilt for his bed!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

And now, for a quilt-y whoop whoop, here is a quilt I made this week for a little boy who lost his mother very unexpectedly.

We were told that he loved all kinds of sports, and the color red.  So we pulled some sports novelty fabrics and solid red and cut 8" squares, and mixed them up to create the top.

I did some square spiral quilting on Jolene (my long arm) to give this quilt some fabulous texture!

More sports fabric and red on the back!

So that's all my big moments for the week -
Can I get a whoop whoop?

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

And now it's your turn!

What's got you dancing the happy dance this week?

Share!  We want to dance right along with you!

The party will stay open until Sunday night -

Hope to see you there!

Hugs!

Sarah

PS - Remember to head over to Pink Doxies on Saturday to link up at her new linky party, too - I'll see you there, too!

  6. Giving you a HUGE Whoop Whoop today! Your grandson is adorable. A friend of mine is beginning the adoption process now and knows it will be a long road, but so so worth it. Praying for a minimum amount of red tape and that you will have Nathanael in your arms soon.

  7. I can imagine a whole family that is having a hard time sleeping now that the dream has become reality! Just imagine the love he's going to be showered with. Gives me goosebumps!

You are so generous in your words and your giving. Your red quilt will be a happy thing in that little guy's world, and maybe help him bear the sadness.

Thank you for the call out for the Pink Doxie Pet Project Show tomorrow, friend. Be sure to pop in, too.

  10. Wonderful news indeed, so happy for your family, and for Nathanael. Happy, yet so sad about the other little boy. My grandson loves all kinds of sports as well as the colour red, and his I Spy quilt I made him a year and a bit ago is very similar to this one. Thanks for all the work you do; I will be joining in on the H2H this year.
