Can I Get a Whoop Whoop? Beginnings!

Hi, all!

I'm not quite sure how it happened, but it's Friday again, and you know what that means - - - it's time to get our whoop whoop on!! The kids are back in school, at least around here, so I know there are some moms out there who are doing the "summer's over" happy dance... So no more waiting, let's get started!!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

Thankfully, whoop whoop Friday isn't limited to finishes - which is a good thing, because while I started a lot of things this week, I haven't got a finish to share!  But I did do this...

...cut out TWO different quilts!  The one on the left will become Lilli's annual quilt - queen size this year to go on her new, much bigger bed.  Eventually this small start...

...will become this seriously blue version of Jamie Elbert's "Summer Wedding" pattern!

The tub on the right will go from this start to become another of Jamie's designs, called Kitchen Sink - because there's a little bit of everything in this one!

And my last start for the week wasn't quilting, but painting - I started painting my kitchen and dining room!  I've only done the ceiling and the crown molding (I figured after seven years, it was time to actually paint it!) but it's a good start, and hopefully I'll have all the painting finished by the end of next week.  I've got a new, much brighter rug to go under the dining room table, but I can't put it out until I finish the painting, so that's incentive to finish the job!

And I have one more beginning - - - well, actually, seven!  A new client came by this week wanting what I thought would be one memory quilt.  What we finally ended up with was an order for five quilts and two pillows!  That ought to keep me busy until mid-fall!

So - - - can I get a whoop whoop??

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

And now it's your turn!

What's got you whooping it up this week?

What's making you do a little happy dance?

Share!  We want to dance right along with you,

And it's always more fun to dance with friends!

The party will stay open until Sunday midnight.

Hope to see you there!

Hugs!

Sarah

Strong work with all that painting. It's looking good and I'm eager to see the new rug.
Lilli's new quilt is going to be gorgeous and I'm tempted with that Kitchen Sink pattern. Thank you for more inspiration!

  6. Wow, you've had a busy week! Painting a ceiling is a difficult job; I'm sure you're happy to have that done! I haven't had the urge to repaint my living room/kitchen yet. It's been a few years! Those two quilts are going to be fantastic!

  12. Sarah, your new projects look scrumptious! There is no way I could post a finish a week. Progress is generally all I have to share, so I am glad that is not a requirement.

The Summer Wedding pattern is so lovely. It looks like you will be having fun making that one.

It is perfect to name that Kaleiodoscope quilt "Kitchen Sink". That is so clever.

Thanks again for your weekly linky.
