I May Have a Scrap Problem... Progress and Inspiration!

Hi, all!

It's so nice to be getting back into the swing of things, and I was really enjoying having time to work on projects of my own (i.e. scrappy sewing!) But then I got a commission for five memory quilts, and now I'm going to have to reward myself with time to sew on my scrappy projects in order to make progress on them!  But it's all good...

I did make some progress this week - I've made and sewn together nine blocks on the Kitchen Sink quilt...

...and I made a good start on Lilli's "Something Blue" quilt, creating a whole mess of the little "H" blocks and assembling the four corner blocks.  (I've made a lot more "H" blocks than are shown in this picture!)

I can't wait to make more of the blocks to fill in more of the blue color - I think this is going to look fabulous!!!

I also made this pillow top (which still needs quilting) from some scraps I found in the dreaded tub "B" - and using my new-found love of calligraphy, have added a word to it as an accent!  Next up for this is quilting and finishing up the appliqué somehow.

And now, since I don't have much more to show off as far as progress, I thought I'd show you some of the fabulous inspiration I've seen this week on Instagram...

Aren't these churn dash blocks fun?  And I saw some others that had pinwheels in the center, too - so cute!

I am so in love with this hourglass quilt - what a great way to mash-up your scraps!

And take a look at this fabulous improv quilt - wouldn't it be great for a man's quilt (and use up some of those solid scraps at the same time?)

And this beauty didn't come from Instagram, but instead from the design wall in our quilt room at church!  My friend Deb made this beautiful scrappy quilt and now I want to make one too!

That's all for this week - I'll be plugging away at the two scrap quilts in between working on the memory quilts, so hopefully I'll have a little bit more progress to show next week!

Keep working on those scraps!

Hugs!

Sarah
