Make-A-List Monday #50! There's No Place Like Home...

Hi, all!

Monday again - a little late, but I'm finally getting on the computer!  We were in Richmond, Virginia for a long weekend of family celebrations - my husband's parents both have their 80th birthdays this month and wanted a family get-together - so we got to see some family members we haven't seen for a while.  We also stopped by Williamsburg and Virginia Beach on Sunday before heading home early this morning.  All in all a fun weekend!

But the big question is - how did I do on last week's list?  Let's see....

1.  Finish quilting the first H2H quilt.
Quilted!  I've still got a little bit of the binding to hand stitch, but basically it's done.

2.  Quilt the second H2H quilt.
Done!  I managed to get this quilted this afternoon - woohoo!!
(I'll have to add pics later - blogger issues!!)

3. Machine sew the bindings on both H2H quilts.
The binding is sewn on the first quilt, but not the second - that's first thing tomorrow morning!

4.  Sew some more of the strips for my Marine quilt.
I got all the strips sewn for this quilt, and have actually started putting it up on the design wall!  It's going to be beautiful...
(I'll add pics later - blogger issues!)

So all in all, I didn't do too badly last week.  Here's what's on tap for this week...

1.  Finish the bindings on both H2H quilts.

2.  Put together several flimsies for the quilt ministry.

3.  Work on the Marine quilt some more...

4.  Sewing this Saturday with my sewing sisters, so the house must be cleaned up...

So that's the agenda for this week.  Not a lot, but hopefully I'll be able to get it all done.

So - - - what are you working on this week?

Hugs!

Sarah

And here's a heads-up on a great charity event - 100 Quilts For Kids!!  You may have participated last year, but if you didn't, or if you haven't seen this year's details, check out Kate's blogpost here.  Kate's lined up a lot of great prizes this week for promoting the event (not the reason why I'm promoting it, but still a nice incentive!) so check out today's blogpost for details on the giveaway.  So go check it out now!!

  2. Wow - that first H2H quilt looks absolutely gorgeous with the white border and blue binding!! Congratulations on all your work this week - and sending good thoughts to you that you will get just as much if not more work done this week!
One question though - what do you mean by 'flimsies'?

  4. So - - - what are you working on this week? Quilts of Valor sew-in on Tuesday. I also have to finish 1 set of the Santa blocks for the exchange (due in July). Also start on the 2nd set of Santa blocks. I'm working that in around my 2 new pt. time jobs and driving my son to BSA scout camp on Saturday in Wisconsin. Busy week, again.

  5. Sometimes it's nice to lighten the load. This week will be finishing the Modern Quilt Challenge piece, some zip purses and prepping blocks for the stitch along (done today).

  6. Whoa, you have completed so much stuff! I will be happy if I just get a start on the quilt I have to make for my friends daughter. I cannot wait for my holidays so I have more time to sew. I will probably sleep the time away though. =)
    hugs,
    Carolyn

  7. Good Morning Sarah,
Glad you are back home after a weekend in my neck of the woods. I hope you found the weather agreeable and fun and family aplenty. You are doing great on that list thing. Maybe I need to start making me a list. I seem to stay behind with everything.
