Hi, all!
Friday is here again, and you know what that means - it's time to get our whoop whoop on! Let's get started!
This has been another week of quilting for me - I've mainly been working on quilting some memory quilts made by a friend of mine...
This was the first one. Made to look like shirts and ties, with collars and everything, so I quilted a fairly tight meander around the ties and collar points to make them stand out. My friend will put the collar buttons back on before finishing the quilt!
Next up was this quilt - a simpler design, and it got a simpler, larger random meander quilting pattern. Such a cute way to use ties and shirts!
And then Thursday afternoon this quilt went on the frame. I wanted the ties to stand out, so I quilted in a tight small meander around them like I did on the first quilt. I also changed thread colors for the center of the "star" and for the dark borders. It really turned out nicely!
This week I also shipped these five quilts to Stash Builder Box to be part of their donation to Camp Hobe in June. I quilted these as part of their Heartbuilder program - others in the program pieced them. Aren't they gorgeous?
Also this week, we received our first HelloFresh box! I wrote all about it in this blogpost if you are interested in reading more - there's a link to get a $40 discount off your first box there too!
And the biggest whoop whoop of all? We celebrated two years with this little guy this week!! (And I think we're also celebrating getting a picture of all five of them smiling at the same time... 😄)
So - - - can I get a whoop whoop?
*&*&*&*&*&*&*
And now it's your turn!
What's got you whooping it up this week?
What's making you dance a little happy dance?
Share! We want to dance right along with you!
And it's alway more fun to dance with friends!
The party will stay open until Sunday midnight.
Hope to see you there!
Hugs!
Sarah
Hello Sarah,
ReplyDeleteThe shirts and ties quilt is brilliant. Every man should have one. So touching that this is a memory quilt.
Love, Muv
Wow - great accomplishments this week. Especially love the tie quilt. Love, love your quilting on it!
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy! We have just started getting Hello Fresh too - we LOVE it!! We got Blue Apron for awhile, but Hello Fresh is much more our style. Haven't had a bad meal yet! I love seeing your Heart Builder quilts! I'm going to have the pattern in next month's SBB! I'm super excited about that! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing! Really love your post today. The quilts are fantastic!! I remember when that little guy came home. Can't believe it's been two years. I'll check that food company out too. Thanks for all you do!
ReplyDeleteSo much fun to see what you are up to each week! Not much to whoop about on my end, but that's okay. Thanks for sharing your beautiful projects! Wendy at piecefulthoughts@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts, but this week's gif takes all!!! How precious!!! Congrats on the Gotcha Day!
ReplyDeleteThose tie quilts are just so fun! The first one is a great pattern for a memory quilt. Putting the collar buttons back on is a great idea :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your Happy Nana milestone this week, too!
Is the quilt with the hearts a tie quilt as well? It's hard for me to tell from the photo what part of it is made of ties if it is.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I meant to say, before finishing my comment above, that I love the two other tie quilts, but am looking for a tie quilt pattern which doesn't involve appliqué, and doesn't necessarily involve using the ties looking like ties, but rather the ties as fabric.
ReplyDeleteGreat use of ties! Love the one that looks like men's shirts. Your grandkids make me smile.
ReplyDeleteThat Shirt and Tie Memory Quilt is amazing! It actually brought a knot to my throat as I imagined the recipient receiving it back from you! Congratulations on your two year celebration - and selfie! :)
ReplyDeleteHello.... noticed all your ties. I just found a bunch of ties. but I am sure they will need cleaning.... any tips on how to clean them ?
