Make-A-List Monday - July? JULY!!

Hi, all!

July?  How did it get to be July already?  Seems like it was just June... but no, June is gone and everything's in overdrive again!

Here's something I should have done yesterday - with the 12 Days of Christmas in July blog hop just around the corner, here's this year's quilt-along quilt...

I'll be posting fabric requirements later this week, along with some other color options.  And I've got a surprise - we've got a special sponsor for this year's quilt-along!  See all those half-square triangles in the quilt?  Well, you probably know how much I love my Bloc-Loc ruler for squaring them up - and the wonderful folks at Bloc-Loc are offering a 10% discount off your order on their website so you can get one of your own (if you don't own one already!)  This offer is only good for two weeks, so order yours quick with the code JULY25TH.  Enter the code in the Special Instructions box when checking out on their site.

OK, now that that's out of the way, let's see how last week's list went...

1.  Make my wish list for QuiltCon 2019.
2.   Be ready at 9 am CST Tuesday morning to register!
Done!  I got all the classes I wanted - one of Christina Cameli's quilting classes, a piecing class using solids, a design class that involves a walk with a camera, and a class in long arm quilting with rulers. Should be fun!!

3.  Keep working on my June Scrap Attack project.
Still plugging away - check back on Wednesday to see how it went!

4.  Teach Lilli how to use my quilting machine.  (She asked!)
Done - and she did an awesome job!  Here she is with the quilt she quilted - like a pro, I might add!

5.  Quilt my crescent denim quilt.
DONE!!!!  I am so excited!  This is just a teaser - be sure to come back on Wednesday to see more pics!!

6.  Quilt one of the quilt-along quilts.
Done - but it's in the dryer and I don't have a pic of the finished quilt yet!  You'll just have to trust me...

7.  Keep up with any quilt ministry needs that come up.
Done!  Only one this week - this quilt went to our children's ministry leader, who is leaving us and moving to Atlanta with her family.  We sure will miss her!!!

I also did a little non-scheduled sewing this week - a sweet little baby quilt...

...and a coordinating pillow, both of which went into my friend's shop.  Her grand opening was a huge success!

So all in all, a really great and productive week!  Here's hoping I can do as well this week.  Here's what's on my plate for the week...

1.  Quilt the second 12DCIJ quilt-along quilt.

2.  Quilt a top for a friend.

3.  Keep working on my June Scrap Attack project.

4.  Work on some additional pieces for my friend's shop.

5.  Finish writing the quilt-along tutorial.

6.  Keep up with any quilt ministry needs that come up.

Definitely more than enough to keep me out of trouble! And now, the question is - - - what are YOU working on this week?

Hugs!

Sarah

  2. So exciting that Lili is getting into quilting! Good for her! I know that’s fun for you!
That’s a lot of classes at QuiltCon, you’ll be busy! I signed up for only one three hour class this year. Didn’t want to be too busy, andcreally don’t want to start a whole lot of new projects. I have too many to finish already. But I’m really looking forward to going as I missed last year in Pasadena.
I did order a blocloc but the code didn’t get me a discount! I’d been wanting to try these rulers and am just about to embark on a big quilt with lots af HSTs, so it was great timing.

  3. Lili did great on her little quilt! I know you'll have fun in your classes at QuiltCon. I didn't try to sign up for any because I still don't know if Susan and I will be able to attend next year. Meanwhile, I'm working on my row-by-row quilt for this year. And getting ready to make the sample row for my design which will debut in a blog hop in August. And need to write up the post for the Christmas in July hop. =)

  5. I can't believe how tall Lilli looks. The Princess looks very grown up. She did a beautiful job on the quilt.

  7. Tell Lilli her quilt is lovely! You finished so much! I need to make a scrappy quilt or two. I just cleaned and organized my sewing area and have so many scraps! What’s the best way to cut and organize scraps? What do you do? I hope you don’t mind my asking. Ty Sarah! Looking forward to blog-hop!
