Time to Celebrate with A GiveAway!!!

Hi, all!!

Imagine my excitement this morning when I signed into my blog and noticed that the follower count had hit 400!!!  I hollered "woohoo" so loud that my husband came running to see what was wrong!!  I thank each and every one of you who takes the time to read my little blog - I appreciate you all, even the "blurkers" who never leave a comment!!  I've enjoyed getting to know you all, and am constantly amazed that you stick around to see what's going on!

And I've decided that you all should be just as excited as I am - so we're having a giveaway!!!

Take a look at these beautiful fabrics I picked up in Paducah earlier this year - three yummy Swiss Chocolate prints, and Kona cottons in four coordinating colors (sorry, I can't remember the names of the colors!)  There's at least a half yard of each piece, and a couple are right around a yard.  Plenty to make a pretty quilt!!

So how can you throw your name in the hat?  Easy-peasy - just leave a comment on this post!  Make me laugh - or tell me something you'd like to see me post about - or just say hi!  One entry per person, no need to follow me to join in - although feel free to follow if you want to!  I respond to all comments, so if you don't hear back from me, that means you're a no-reply blogger, so come back and leave me your e-mail address!  I'll choose a winner next Wednesday, June 29th, post it here and notify the winner by e-mail.  Be sure you check in - if I don't hear from the winner by Monday, July 4th, I'll pick another winner!

Later!

Sarah

I think that brown tone on the far left is spice and I know that because it is one of the colors I used in my Star Jewels quilt. The pinks look heavenly:)

  23. Congratulations on 400!! OK, here's a sad but true story: we heard rain last night, for the first time in OVER A YEAR, so we got up outta the bed (it was after midnight, after all), and went & stood on the porch, watching it come down. For all of 3 minutes. But, it was rain, none the less!!

I'm loving your fabrics - they make me think of chocolate covered cherries!

    Silly factoid for the day:
June 22nd is the day the doughnut hole was invented by 15-year-old Hansen
Crockett Gregory (1847). The former sea captain was interviewed in his later years and said he couldn't stand the uncooked centers of the fried cakes they made on board so he used a tin pepper can to cut a hole in the dough before frying. And it worked!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I follow you through my google reader. I love your blog! It's very generous of you to give away such a nice bundle of fabric - it's beautiful. Maybe this will make you smile - I recently hung a quilt that I made several years ago up in my dining room and it was only then that I noticed that one block has not been quilted! It has been exhibited before in our local quilt show too. How embarrasing!

  47. Hey Sarah - Thanks for the giveaway and a chance to win. Funny story. I went to Spokane yesterday with a friend - she drove. It was a warm day in our area yesterday and she kept turning the AC in the car up and up. I asked her if she was really hot and she said that she was. Then it caught my eye - she had her seat warmer on high - I asked her if she wanted that on and we laughed our heads off over it.

  61. Hi Sarah! I was 403. Funny story about a quilting machine that was in the shop since March. Finally received call Monday June 20, "Your machine is ready to pick up". Jump for joy!! Went to get the machine, came home sat it up on frame, ready to quilt so excited to get back to what I do best. WHAT IT DOES NOT WORK :( "Well you can imagine what I did next". But all ends well I'm up and ready to quilt. Love those colors that you choose. You have an amazing eye for colors. When I grow up I want to be just like you!!!!!

  80. Nice selections and sweet way to celebrate 400 followers (of which I am proud to be one!) Anyhooo, something funny to share with you: I have fair hair and lot's on my arms. The other day I was driving and noticed something in the corner of my eye, a long hair on my arm! At first I thought it was my daughter's hair clinging by static, but when I tried to remove it.... well, there were three of them about 3" long and attached to my skin! How does that happen? hehehe

  84. Wonderful selection of fabrics -- I'm color challenged so hope I win and you've done all the work! Congratulations on reaching your milestone.
Here is a funny. My aunt and uncle were driving on vacation way out in Nebraska. They heard there was a Hog Fest going on in the next little town, and decided to stop there to eat. When the waitress took their order, my Aunt asked "What happened with the hogs. I saw the little animal pens but no hogs. I heard there was a Hog Fest here this weekend, but where are the hogs." The waitress laughed and laughed until she cried. Hog Fest = Harley David. motorcycle gathering. The "little pens" were where the food and beverage vendors were going to set up.

  86. I just learned about deep fried kool-aid. Gross huh. The guy who came up with it says he mixes flour, water and the fav-0-rite drink! And other things which he won't disclose. Well tying this to fabric, is that its all red! Also I had a 7-year-old birthday party with red kool-aid and it went all over the carpet. It's all red! Alas the carpet is clean now, but the fabric would make it all better.

    ReplyDelete
  87. OK. I admit it. I am a blurker! There I said it.
Congrats on the followers. WOW! That is astounding!

  100. A few weeks back our local paper featured a large photo on page 2 of a man and the piece of driftwood he had found that (sorta) looked like the head of a deer! He used a sharpie to give it an eye. My son cracked up. Who alerted the media to this important (LOL) non-story and who saw fit to print it? I live in such a podunk town it's scary.

  112. Cute story-I've had my daughter-in-law and 4 grandchildren staying with us for 2 weeks. Monday their furniture finally arrived and Tuesday we unpacked. That afternoon we kept asking about the 2 year old, generally a holy terror and underfoot, none of the adults had seen her. We found her sitting against the wall in her newly set up bedroom, holding several dolls, with the rest of them also lined up against the wall. She was smiling and completely content, and remained that way for several more hours. I guess she's really missed her things.
    Congrats on 400.
