Make-A-List Monday - Winter Again?!?!?!?!?

Hi, all!

Well, we're back in the deep freeze today - and I've got an unexpected housemate in my husband today!  We got a good coating of ice, enough to make the roads really dangerous, and he decided (after, of course, trying) that it wasn't worth wrecking the car to go into work!  I'm really grateful, too, because he was driving my car!  So I've been doing a little sewing today, a little quilt basting, watching a lot of movies, answering emails and bloghopping!  Lazy days are a lot of fun…..

But I'd better check last week's list to see how I did on the days I wasn't so lazy!  Here goes…

1.  Finish the last comfort quilt.
Done!  Here's a pic of the flimsy - I love the way it looks like stained glass!

2.  Finish quilting the top that's on the quilt frame at church.
Done - and of course, I didn't take a picture!

3.  Quilt a top for a gentleman with lung cancer.
Done!  This one's already been delivered...

4.  Work on piecing a baby top.
Done!  I had a lot of fun making this Connecting Threads kit - now I want to make it using 5" squares!!

5.  Keep working on the Singer 99 case.
I think I've finally got the case sanded down, now I need to paint it.

6.  Hang the new shelves in my sewing studio.
Didn't get to this one!  I had hope to get to it today, with my niece here to help me, but she's got lots of homework to work on.  Guess I'll have to hit up my DH!

7.  Keep up with any new ministry needs that arise.
Done!  We had a request for a woman's quilt, and thanks to Patty and her wonderful donation, we had a beautiful quilt on hand that only needed the binding sewn down.

8.  Clean house!
Done!   A nice clean house for my niece's visit.  And I'm still alive!

Not too bad!  I didn't get to everything, but I think I got to enough of it.  So here's what's on my list for this week…

1. Quilt the baby top.

2.  Quilt a top for a woman with leukemia.

3.  Quilt a top for a man with a serious heart condition.

4.  Paint the Singer 99 case.

5.  Deconstruct 16 t-shirts for a commission quilt.

6.  Write a Working Wednesday post.

7.  Write a post for the ministry blog.

8.  Choose a pattern for a gift quilt.

9.  Keep up with any quilt ministry needs that arise.

I should be able to find time to do all of this - but I've got community group sewing on Thursday morning and our regular monthly quilt ministry group meeting on Saturday morning.  So I won't be able to be lazy after today!!

And now the question is - - - what are YOU working on this week?

  1. Love the first quilt! Nice easy pattern that looks fabulous!

  2. Those lazy days are fun, aren't they? We had one yesterday ... wonderful.

  3. Taking a break..been crazy busy with orders, mom is here visiting for a couple more days.

  4. Lovely quilts - good to take a lazy day, really. We were lucky that the snow and ice didn't make it our way, but it is extremely cold. I took one of my scrap baskets and cut most of it down into useable size pre-cuts - no sewing.

  5. On your mark. Get set. Go!!!

When you want to have another lazy day, can I borrow your get-up-and-go? (I'll make you cookies!)

  6. We got ice this morning. I get a nice leisurely morning since we are on delayed start at work.

  7. These will be well loved! I am always amazed with what you get done. Love the Baby quilt and the 16 patch in the top picture. I think I'll put that one on my charity list ideas. janita

  8. Oh boy, I really love that first quilt that looks like stained glass in that photo. Scrappy-licious!

I finished quilting a two-year-old flimsy today (*breathing a sigh of relief*). Hopefully I'll get the binding done by the weekend! I finally got the correct version of Outlander in audio format, so that's been keeping me good company. The inter-library loan system kept sending me the second set of CDs--twice! They finally got it right and I have breezed through the first half surprisingly quickly...a good story will do that, I guess!

Comments make me smile!! If you want a PDF of a pattern, PLEASE leave your email address in your comment, or email me directly at salliesue57 (at) gmail (dot) com!
