Make-A-List Monday - So Much To Do, So Little Time!

Hi, all!

Monday again already?  Where did the week go?  It seems like it just flew by!  The weather here in TN is acting just like usual - a little bipolar!  It can't decide whether to be warm or cold, windy or rainy - but at least it keeps us on our toes.  And since it could freeze as late as April 15th, it doesn't pay to do any serious yard work yet - which means sewing is still guilt-free!

Last week's list got shifted around a bit - let's take a look at how it went...

1.  Finish the two commission quilts.
Done!  These were so much fun to make, and I love the way they turned out.

2.  Make more string blocks.
I didn't make any more blocks this week - life got in the way! More on that below...

3.  Set up the link party for results in the I May Have A Scrap Problem challenge.
Done!  So far, 37 people have linked up their scrappy progress - that is so awesome!!!

4.  Spend a fun day with my grandkids during their spring break so their parents can have a "date afternoon"!
Done!  We had a fabulous time - starting with lunch at McDonalds - don't they look like they're having fun?

5.  Make a scrappy tote bag.
6.  Quilt at least one quilt for my special project.
I didn't get to either of these - once again, life got in the way!

7.  Bind some quilts for the quilt ministry.
I didn't do this, but for a good reason - all the quilts ready for binding were already taken!

8.  Keep up with any quilt ministry needs that come up.
Done!  We gave away some lovely quilts this week...

This quilt went to a woman who was hit by a car while running a race; she sustained serious injuries that will have her recuperating for a very long time.

This quilt is now comforting a local doctor whose mother died of cancer this week.

This quilt went to a teenager going through an at-risk pregnancy; she is currently hospitalized but hopefully will be going home soon.

And this quilt is for her baby-to-be, a little boy!

And this quilt went to its new home with a sweet little baby girl who was born early - she's tiny, but perfect!  This quilt is made of lawn, light as air and oh so soft!  Perfect for a tiny baby.

Now for what life through at me this week - on Tuesday, after posting my to-do list for the week, I received a package from Craftsy - some fabric they wanted me to review!  So as soon as I finished the commission quilts, I moved on to a project using that new fabric.  It's been keeping me busy, but it's turning out really nice.  I can't wait to show it off to you!!

So last week's list was pretty much a bust.  I got a lot done, but not much on the list.  Oh well - that happens sometimes!  Let's see what I hope to do this week, if life doesn't get in the way!

1.  Finish the Craftsy project.

2.  Make backs for all the quilt tops I have so they will be ready for quilting.

3.  Quilt at least two quilt tops for my special project.

4.  Decide on a goal for April for the I May Have A Scrap Problem challenge.

5.  Mail fabric scrap packages to the people who requested them on last week's I May Have a Scrap Problem post.

6.  Clean out my closet and dresser drawers.

7.  More string blocks!

8. Keep up with any quilt ministry needs that come up.

So that's the goal for this week - hopefully I can accomplish more on this week's list than I did on last week's list!

And now the question is - - - what are YOU working on this week?

Hugs!

Sarah

  2. I love how the two commission quilts turned out, perfect colors. Hearing you say you didn't get everything done gives hope to the rest of us, LOL.

  3. You may not have gotten to everything on your list but you still got a lot done!
I just finished piecing the backing for the memory quilt I've been working on, next step is to applique his initials on the back.
I actually started a scrap project back in January that I really need to get back to, the scrappy 4 patches are done now I need to make a boat load of gray & white HST.
Lastly, I want to quilt & bind my Lush Lagoon lap quilt.
    Thanks for the inspiration!!

  4. Lots of pretty quilts going to homes and I am sure they will bring comfort. I am sewing on beads of courage bags, a quilt for a friend and I need to make a baby quilt. Unfortunately I need to spend time cleaning kitchen cupboards. My oven died last week and I am getting a new stove instead of a wall oven. Let the kitchen remodeling begin.

  5. Those two commission quilts are absolutely gorgeous!

I have several quilt tops that need quilted, but I'm waiting on backing fabric to be delivered! Maybe they all will be quilted and bound by May.
