I May Have A Scrap Problem... A Fun Finish!!!

Hi, all!

Oh, I am so excited to say that I have an honest to gosh scrappy finish to share!!!  I didn't think I'd be able to share it until after Christmas, but the girl I made it for couldn't wait to open it, so I can share it now.....

I started out with a pile of fun pink and purple scraps...

....made some cute little weiner dog heads and butts...

...put together some rows of scrappiness...

...quilting and binding...

... and .... finished!!

And best of all, I made some money using my scraps!!

This was a fun quilt to make, although I wouldn't recommend the pattern to new quilters.  It isn't complicated, but it had some weird things about it that I fixed as I went along - experience is useful!  If you are interested in making one of your own, email me and I'll share some of my experience and tips to make your task easier.

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

I'm working on a special scrap challenge for 2018 and I'll share more about that, hopefully next week.  Until then, keep working on taming that scrap monster!

Hugs!

Sarah

  14. That is adorable! I assume it was for a Doxie lover! And I’m sure whomever got it loves it very much! She certainly should! I’m a dog lover myself, though I’m sort of partial to larger dogs, but I still think it’s absolutely stinking cute! I’m more likely to buy all kinds of dog print fabrics than actually designing dogs myself, but I wish I could do the latter. Maybe I’ll venture into that area later in life - which better be soon if I hope to get much practice. LOL.

  18. I'm making taggy blankets this week, using satins that I got off the raffle table, and leftover Minkee and ribbons I've collected over the years for the taggies. I made them large, not small, so that they can be little blankets for covering up with, too. Great doggie quilt.
