Make-A-List Monday - And It's December!

Hi, all!

As I sat down to write this, I looked at last week's list and thought, "Was that just a week ago?"  Actually, I asked it out loud and my husband looked at me like I was crazy.  It seems like much more than a week since I last checked my to-dos!  But Monday has rolled around again, and it's time to see how last week went and figure out my goals for this week.

So let's see how I did on last week's list...

1.  Finish the baby quilt.
2.  Make a matching pillow.
Done!  And shipped off and received by my customer, too!

3.  Hit Joann's Black Friday sale for some batting.
Done!  No pics, but trust me, I have a stash in a spare room...

4.  Hem some jeans for my husband.
Done!  And bless him, he found two more pair I need to hem!

5.  Cook cook cook for Thanksgiving.
Whew!  Done!  Bill smoked a turkey breast and a Boston butt, and I made cranberry relish, stuffing balls, macaroni and cheese (eldest granddaughter's special request), and broccoli salad.  And that was such a small portion of all the food at our big family get together!

6.  Hem up some curtains.
Well, I had good intentions - and there is a pair of curtains draped over my quilting frame, just waiting.  But I just ran out of time today!

7.  Quilt one of the annual quilts.
Done!  I put Lilli's quilt on the frame this week and finished it up! I'll have better pictures on an upcoming Friday.

8.  Start decorating the house for Christmas.
I've still got a ways to go, but it's looking good...

9.  Keep up with any quilt ministry needs that come up.
We just gave away one quilt this week, but such a sad reason - one of our ministry members works with a woman whose son was killed in a car accident last week.

So I didn't get to everything, but I did make a lot of progress!  This week may not see too much sewing, as we are hosting a Christmas party on Sunday and I have to get the house ready, but I'm hopeful I can carve out a little bit of time to sew.  Here's my list for the week...

1.  Make some samples for the Joann's class open house this weekend.

2.  Clean up around the house.

3.  Finish decorating for Christmas.

4.  Find ornaments for two ornament exchange parties.

5.  Ship off some Christmas presents.

6.  Prep for a class on Thursday.

7.  Prep for our ministry Christmas party on Saturday.

8.  Make a back for Emmy's annual quilt.

9. Quilt Emmy's annual quilt if time allows.

10.  Hem those curtains!

11.  Keep up with any quilt ministry needs that come up.

Lots to do, but I'm determined to enjoy the season and not get stressed out about it!  So the curtains may still be too long next week...

And now the question is - - - what are YOU working on this week?

Hugs!

Sarah

  2. I especially love your mantel decorations...so pretty; we haven't begun to decorate as yet. Since it's just the two of us and we are going to my daughter's for Christmas, we are dragging our feet for dragging everything out...;(((

  3. The baby quilt and pillow turned out so cute! That's special memory fabric, right? I'm sure the family will love and cherish it :)

  4. Hi Sarah! Your tree looks so pretty - I love the lights reflecting on the walls around it. And your mantle looks great, too. I am so sorry to hear about the person who lost her son in a car accident. That is so very hard and senseless. You always seem to rock your to-do list! ~smile~ Roseanne

  5. Just reading everything you accomplished last week leaves me out of breath. I love when Christmas trees are plaed by a window. The reflections in the glass and the sparkle when you view the tree from outside are magical. If you have time after the holidays (in 2020) I would love if you could show us how you hem jeans. I have looked at tutorials online, but am open to new ways.
