Friday has arrived in a rush this week, but it's here now and you know what that means - it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on! So let's get started...
*&*&*&*&*&*&*
Surprisingly enough, even though it seems like it was a VERY short week, I managed to have a couple of finishes! The first was this pretty baby quilt, actually a memory quilt...
The purple plaid was part of a well-loved childhood comforter and became part of this sweet little baby quilt.
If this looks familiar, it should - it's the same pattern as a baby quilt I made earlier this year. Mom decided she wanted one for her younger daughter, too, and thus we have sister quilts!
The back of this quilt is a favorite sheet with lavender rosebuds. Sweet!
On Wednesday, I shared this pillow, made with the cut-off corners of the snowball blocks in the quilt - a lovely match!
And then today, while between projects, I decided that I HAD to do something about my workstation! It was a hideous mess - lots of leftovers from recent projects that I had not had time to put away. But now...
Empty scrap buckets!
And the other end is cleaned up too!
Of course, just to be honest with you, there's still a LOT of cleaning to be done...
...but there are still projects to be completed before Christmas - so I think I'll just have to muddle along, happy for a clean worktable!
So - - - can I get a whoop whoop?
*&*&*&*&*&*&*
And now it's your turn!
What's making you whoop it up this week?
What's making you do a little happy dance?
Share! We want to dance right along with you,
And it's always more fun to dance with friends!
The party will stay open until Sunday midnight.
Hope to see you there!
Hugs!
Sarah
Looks great Sarah. All my "Stuff" is packed away as the painter continues to wield the brush and transform yellow mustard wallpaper to a clean wall in pale grey.
ReplyDeleteLove love your sweet baby quilt, with prairie points to finish, it's a beauty! Great clean studio ;)
ReplyDeleteLovely finishes - and a bonus pillow - wonderful! Big whoop, whoop for cleaning many areas in your sewing room. I've been waiting to start a few new projects, but am finally getting much needed binding done on some of my WIP's - then.....new projects, hopefully :)!
ReplyDeleteMy sewing room is mostly cleaned back up again and ready for me to play in after it was used as a guest room for 4 days - I'm ready to sew again
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors in that quilt! Every once in a while a deep cleaning is in order! I find it very satisfying when all is said and done!
ReplyDeleteI try to straighten up my studio when I finish one project... I am able to approach the next one without distractions. Have a great weekend!

I straightened up a bit myself. I had decided the machine applique was not a look I liked so I tidied up the project and portioned out the pieces I could start doing by hand. Then set my Straits of Mackinac back up for some speed sewing :-)
ReplyDeleteThat baby quilt is so sweet, Sarah! I love how you incorporated all of those special fabrics, and the 3-D prairie point border is just fabulous. I can imagine a little one being fascinated with those little fabric points sticking up like that. Does that make it more difficult to quilt it? I imagine you can't do a pantograph if you have that kind of border? WHOOP WHOOP for you on cleaning up your studio, which I really need to do today before I shift gears from my explosively messy scrap piecing project so I can start quilting my Christmas quilt. :-)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! I love it when I clean up all surfaces and the underneath parts, too! Makes it nicer to start the next project!
ReplyDeleteNice job on the quick clean-up, Sarah (and the lovely quilt finish, too!!)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! You did a great job with the fabric!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely quilt and matching pillow... so pretty! Love that you used up the scraps to make the pillow!
ReplyDeleteI love a nice clean cutting/ work area, but somehow rarely make that happen!
Your quilt is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job on quilt #2 and the pillow, not to mention your cleaning! And then, how many did you cook for???
ReplyDeleteLove that quilt and it's SO nice to have a clean area to work. I'm always struggling to stay on top of the mess! :)
