Hi, all!
Happy New Year! Even better than Mondays, a new year gives us a chance to clean up, try new things, finish old projects, and maybe make a resolution or two. I'm not big on resolutions (they seem to be made to be broken!) but I do have some things I'm going to try to do this year. I'm hoping to use up more of my stash, both scraps and fabric I've been holding on to for a while. I've got a few projects that have been hanging around that I want to finish. And I'm working on learning Italian and getting in better shape for our trip to Italy - yoga and the treadmill are my two goals there. Do you have big plans for this year? I'd love to hear them!
But enough of big plans - here's what I'm hoping to get to this week...
1. Keep working the first prototype quilt for this year's tutorial series.
2. Pull fabrics for the second prototype quilt.
3. Quilt several ministry quilts.
4. Clean off one of my sewing tables.
5. Write three blogposts this week.
6. At least three days of yoga.
7. At least two days on the treadmill.
I think all that's do-able! I'm really enjoying working on the first prototype, so I'm having to tear myself away to work on other things too. I'm finding that using it as a reward for doing a less-than-fun task works well!
And because I don't have any pretty quilt pictures to share today, how about a couple of pictures of Bree?
I'm working on cleaning the three things I have on my design wall by the end of January. Started quilting one of them today! Hope to finish the quilting by Friday.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you are feeling well enough this year to even make a list of goals!
ReplyDeleteMy goal this week is to finish another quadrant of the Elephant Abstractions quilt. I've got 2 done, 4 to go! Ooo, a trip to Italy sounds wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteThis week I am trying to put two BOMs together, all the pieces/blocks are finished, just the final assembly to do. I also want do the Bonnie Hunter Mystery clue, number 7. Seems doable, especially as we are supposed to have a lot of rain this week, making for indoor activities. I just hope the power stays on. ;)
ReplyDeleteI wrote out the list of quilts that I plan to work on this year. The list is probably still too long but a retreat at the end of February might help me accomplished some goals. Hopefully, the sashing and the last border on the quilt Jericho Wall will be on by the weekend. As I'm getting back to work tomorrow (Wednesday) I keep my fingers crossed that all will go well.
ReplyDeleteHappy to see you back in the swing of things. Enjoy! ;^)
Hands2Help is so close...gheez the years fly by don't they. Love seeing the puppy!
ReplyDeleteBesides the usual goals of using up more stash and scraps and finishing more (any?) UFOs, I want to learn to quilt on a longarm. A local shop rents time on their longarm and provides some instruction. I was scheduled to do this last June, but the shop owner had back surgery and wasn't available until Sept. At that point the rest of the year got away from me. So this is my highest priority.

A beautiful, blissful pic of Bree! Keep the peace of this post as the foundatiion for all of creativity! I need to get back in the studio and make some quilts!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you are popping up in my feed - for some reason half my read list disappeared. Look forward to the tutorials - always a need to use up stash.
ReplyDeleteBree is the sweetest!! Oh please let us know how the yoga is going. I'd love to start. I'm still trying to determine what I want to accomplish in 2023...taking a lot of thought.
