Can I Get a Whoop Whoop? What a Fabulous Week!

Hi, all!

Well, it's Friday again - and we all know what that means!  It's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!  Are you ready?  Let's go!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

We've been at the beach all week, and having a fabulous time with it!  The weather has been gorgeous (except for one day, but I put that to good use) and we've been working hard at resting up!  It's a tough life, but someone's got to do it....

The food's been pretty amazing, too!  We love to eat breakfast out, and this was my on my plate one morning - cheese grits topped with scrambled eggs, tomatoes and onions, smothered in sausage gravy, with a side of biscuit and bacon!  And no, I couldn't eat it all!

And on that one rainy day, I pulled out my mother's old sewing machine, a beautiful (and well-worn) Featherweight...

...and got to work sewing.  We are working on a new project for the quilt ministry right now - bed quilts for a local women's shelter - and we needed five full size quilts, which isn't a common size for us.  But I had all those ten inch squares that I've been cutting, so I pulled out a whole bunch of them and brought them with me on this trip. After some sorting by color, I put together this top...

...and this one....

...and finally this one!

I've got enough squares with me for a couple more, but the weather for our last day is supposed to be gorgeous, so I've packed up my machine and will finish them after I get home.  But I'm happy with what I did accomplish!

And I'm not the only one who's been sewing - Juanita H. made this beautiful quilt as part of Hands2Help.  It's being donated to a local charity for their fundraiser.  Aren't those colors great together?

So - - - can we get a whoop whoop?

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

And now it's your turn!

What's got you whooping it up this week?

What's making you do a little happy dance?

Share!  We want to dance right along with you,

And it's always more fun to dance with friends!

The party will stay open until Sunday midnight.

Hope to see you there!

Hugs!

Sarah

  2. It looks beautiful - the bright blue sky and beautiful water - dare I ask where? A little too cold for me in New England to get near the water. Great job on the ministry quilts...you are quite the worker - even on vacation!
