I May Have A Scrap Problem... And a Time Problem!

Hi, all!

May is over.  Where did it go?  Unfortunately, I didn't get anything done on my list of scrappy goals from May (a record-breaking Hands2Help Challenge may have had a little bit to do with that!) but it was still a good month!  June may not be much better, but I'll try just jumping the May goals up to June and see if I can get them done before the end of the month!

In the meantime, this probably doesn't quite count as scrappy sewing, but I did make a quilt top last week using some black and white fabrics I've had stashed away forever - and some of them were scrap sized, so that counts, right?

This is made using a soon-to-be-released pattern by Christina Cameli called Light Speed.  I had the honor of being asked to test drive her pattern, which is so much fun!  And she's named it well, because it is fast, easy, and oh so clever.  It looks hard, but believe me when I say it's beginner easy.  Keep your eyes peeled for the pattern when it releases!

And now, how about some eye candy?  I have seen a few cool scrappy quilts while wandering around on Instagram....

This is a simple design, but look how pretty and effective it is when set on point!

Don't you love it when designers pose with their quilts?  Preeti made this beautiful quilt, which looks like a wonderful scrap-buster! I love the juxtaposition of the warm and cool colors.

This is really a simple quilt, at least as far as the blocks go, but wow, what an impact those colors make!  And using dark colors for the hourglass blocks is brilliant!  Astrid really knocked it out of the park with this quilt....

And last but not least, this quilt has captured my heart - I've made these blocks for several quilts, but this layout is just fabulous!  This may just be my next string quilt.

NOTE:  I've had several requests for the name of this block, and while I still don't know it, I did find a tutorial for the block on Susies-Scraps.com.  Click HERE to see the tutorial!

Stay scrappy, folks - because if you don't they'll take over the world!

Hugs!

Sarah
