Make-A-List Monday - Making Up For Lost Time!

Hi, all!

Here it is, another Monday rolling around - and that means another list!  This will be a different week, as I'm planning to paint my living room - hubby is out of town, so I can make a big mess and not have to worry about cleaning it up every evening! But before we get into this week's goals, let's take a look at last week's list.

1.  Try another test of Christina's pattern using scraps.
Done!  I made this one using all scraps, no color plan in mind, just what I had to hand.  I really like it!

2.  Quilt the Hopscotch quilt.
I didn't quilt Hopscotch, but I did quilt this one that had been on my stack for a while!

3.  Make some decisions about upcoming events on the blog.
Done!  I wasn't sure if I would be doing the 12 Days of Christmas in July blog hop this year, but I contacted some of my friends and they're on board!

4.  Make quilt backs for all the unquilted flimsies and get them ready to put on the frame.
I made backs for most, and got material for a couple that still needs to be made up, but there's a bunch that are ready to go!

5.  Keep up with any quilt ministry needs that arise.
Done!  Only one quilt last week, but that gave us a chance to get some cleaning done in the quilt room.

This quilt went to a woman going through serious medical issues.

We are currently working on two long-term projects at church - making quilts for the support staff and bus riders at our local elementary school (we gave them to the teachers last year), and also making children's quilts for a local charity, Love on Wheels. This group is very similar to Little Lambs Foundation of Utah - they provide a suitcase filled with personal care items and a comfort item, such as a stuffed animal or quilt.  I contacted them when I heard about the ministry and they were very excited to connect up with us!  We'll be supplying them with children's quilts over time - not enough for every suitcase they give away, but as many as we can.  It's an exciting new project!

So that's how last week went.  This week will be different, but interesting!  Here's my list...

1.  Paint the living room.

2.  Quilt a special quilt.

3.  Quilt the Hopscotch quilt.

4.  Work on my 12 Days of Christmas in July quilt-along quilt.

5.  Keep up with any quilt ministry needs that come up.

That feels like a short list, but it should keep me busy!  I spent today painting the trim in the living room, and cutting in the corners and around the baseboards, windows and doors.  Tomorrow I will roll the walls, and then hopefully I'll move the furniture back Wednesday morning so it will be all finished when my husband gets home!  I'll work on the other stuff in between bouts of painting.

And now the question is - - - what are YOU working on this week?

Hugs!

Sarah

  1. You should give yourself a big Attagirl for piecing up a bunch of backings. Sometimes they can take as long as the top, it seems! This week's goal is to blog about the seven finishes I have sitting in a pile on my couch. C'mon sunshine, I need good light to take photos!

  5. Dear Energizer Bunny, You are a treat to watch :-) I'm eager to see the color you chose for your walls. Updating is always fun to watch. I should do it someday. Ha! :-)
I finally finished the crows and watermelon blocks...which took FOREVER, I might mention. Now I have some hopefully easier star blocks. Have a great week!

  6. I don't know how you do it, I work on a quilt occasionally. Wish I could just sew all the time, but Sunday is our only day off. I wanted to thank you for the goodie package, everything will be put to good use.
