Make-A-List Monday - A Bit of a Breather!

Hi, all!

Welcome to a whole new week!  It's warmer, the sun is shining, the daffodils are blooming - it feels like spring is just around the corner.  I can't wait, can you?

Let's see how last week's list went....

1.  Finish the two USPS t-shirt quilts.
Done! And I actually remembered to take pictures before they went home with their owner...

2.  Work with my repair guy, Joe, to get Jolene (my long arm) back up and running well!
Done!  Jolene is a much happier camper now, although he didn't find anything major wrong - just a tune-up.

3.  Quilt the final String Therapy quilt and write the tutorial.
Done! You can see more of this quilt and learn how to make one of your own by clicking here.

4.  Plan out another puzzle style quilt.
Done!  Lilli and I spent a fruitful afternoon laying out and graphing out another quilt.  Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of the process this time.

5.  Assemble a gift quilt top (someone else will be quilting it).
Done!  And I've let it at church for the other group member to pick up and quilt.

6.  Start cutting pieces for my vacation project.
Started!  I need to make a quilt requested by the lady who gave me all the sewing stuff she didn't want to take with her when she moved, and I figure vacation is a good time to start it!  I'm trying to cut all the pieces for the blocks and bag them up so it will be easy to work on one at a time.

I got a lot done last week, but my customer for the new puzzle quilt came up with a few things she wanted to send to be added to the quilt, so I've got time to catch my breath a little bit.  It feels good!  So here's what I'll be working on this week...

1.  Keep cutting pieces for the vacation project.

2.  Finish deconstructing some pieces for the next puzzle quilt.

3.  Plan the locations for the new pieces for the puzzle quilt after they arrive.

4.  Make a back for a 30's style quilt.

5.  Clean up the quilt room a bit, organizing the t-shirt scraps and sorting out the quilting cotton scraps into the right places.

6.  Work on Sunday's H2H sign-up post!

It's hard to believe that we're already this far into the year, and it's time for the Hands2Help Comfort Quilt Challenge 2021 - but it is!  If you've never joined in before, I hope you'll consider coming along this year - it's fun, low key, and I think you'll enjoy it.  It feels so good to help others, and it's even more fun with friends!

Oh and I had one more finish this weekend...

3000 pieces, several weeks of puzzling it out from a 5" x 8" picture - whew!  I'll probably start another one in a few days, but for now I'm taking a puzzle breather too.  I'll start missing it in a bit, though.  They're addictive!

And now, the only question is - - - what are YOU working on this week?

Hugs!

Sarah

  1. Wowzer that list of accomplishments it incredible! I find a 1,000 puzzle quite challenging. A Canadian woman just finished a 40,000 piece Disney puzzle... can you even imagine?!?!

  2. Love both of your T-shirt quilts, the corner stones really make them shine. Beautiful work on them. Your puzzle is amazing - 500 to 1000 is usually the most I try - this is just awesome!

  3. My husband used to try to get me to work on jigsaw puzzles with him. I would, but only for a few minutes at a time... I told him that making quilt tops was my version of jigsaw puzzles. :)
