Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Organization, and Some Other Stuff!

Hi, all!

Here we are, Friday again, and not only Friday, but the first one of May!  It's hard to believe how fast this year is flying by, isn't it?  But Friday means that it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on, so let's get going!

It's been an interesting and diverse week in my neck of the woods this week - it started out with working on all of these machines at church to be sure they were running well.  Most of them just had tension or threading issues that were easily remedied.  We've had so many quilters coming to our group meetings we've had a hard time finding working machines to put them at, but that's fixed now!

Next up was this quilt.  I'm only showing a progress shot because it's a gift, but once it's given, I'll share pics of the finished quilt!

I did a lot more organizing in the studio this week, too!  I went to Target to get more of these bins....

...but they were completely out, not only at my store, but all over the area, and I couldn't order any more!  What was a girl to do?  But then I saw these larger bins....

...which it turns out hold four times as much for only twice the price!  So even though I was dealt lemons, I ended up with lemonade!

Here you can see my fabric storage, with the Target bins on the top shelf.  It's nice that the smaller bins will still stack on top of the larger ones, so there's no wasted space.  And I'm confessing here (and a little bit embarrassed by the fact) that the first three cubbies, seventeen of those small bins, is fat quarters!  But I think I've finally found them all, and now that they are all together, I can see what I have and start using them.

And Thursday I got this quilt ready (it needed a couple of blocks turned) and loaded on the frame, ready to be quilted on Friday!

And best of all, this week we delivered twenty-five quilts to our high school minister to be distributed to our graduating seniors!  Look at that fabulous group of sewing sisters!

And I had this beautiful little visitor on my bird feeder this week - I'm not sure what kind of bird it is, and I haven't seen him since - so I guess I just had a visit from the bluebird of happiness!

So - - - can I get a whoop whoop?

And now it's your turn!

What's got you whooping it up this week?

What's making you do a little happy dance?

Share!  We want to dance right along with you,

And it's always more fun to dance with friends!

The party will stay open until Sunday midnight.

Hope to see you there!

Hugs!

Sarah

  6. Next time I'm 'over the river' at my daughter's in Detroit, I will have to make a side trip to Target to check out those bins. I only have four wicker IKEA baskets (use the rest of the shelves for yardage) in my IKEA cube organizer, but clear is better. That bird is gorgeous; hope it is nesting and making lots of babies.

  9. Sarah, I love all your organization, and no doubt that you will put all that fabric to good use. And I love seeing all the sewists who create graduation quilts! My mom's tiny rural church does the same thing.
