Hello, 2017! Save These Dates....

Hi, all!

Happy New Year!!  Are you as excited about this upcoming year as I am?  It's kind of like getting a brand-new, shiny-clean notebook with lots of blank pages to write on - what will your story be at the end of 2017?

I have a few things that will be "written in my notebook" that I already know about, and I thought I'd share them with you so you can "save the date", so to speak!

First of all, I've been asked by Free Spirit Fabrics to help launch a new fabric line for them, and my day to post will be Monday, January 23rd.  I'm really excited and can't wait to share this beautiful fabric with you in greater detail!!

Starting Sunday, January 29th, as a lead-in to Hands2Help 2017, I'll be sharing six simple quilt designs in a series called Stunning Stars.   There will be a different quilt featured each Sunday.  I've already started working on the designs and I think it's going to be a lot of fun!

Next up on the calendar, of course, is the Hands2Help 2017 Charity Quilt Challenge!  I'm still sussing out the details right now, but signups will start on Sunday, March 12th.  As always, there will be several charities, guest bloggers, and lots of prizes for the participants!  The Challenge will run until Sunday, May 28th, so there will be plenty of time to make a quilt or quilts for one or more of the charities.

Shortly after that, it will be time to get ourselves into the Christmas spirit (granted a little early!) with the 12 Days of Christmas in July Blog Hop!  I've already started gathering together our bloggers (if you are interested in being a stop on the blog hop, now is the time to let me know!) and it's going to be an exciting journey once again!  Mark your calendars for July 14th through July 25th - you won't want to miss this!

And of course, I'll still be digging through scraps on Wednesdays and whooping it up on Fridays, and I hope you'll come join the fun!

That's just a taste of what is coming in 2017 - are you as excited as I am?

Hugs!

Sarah

  3. I'm looking forward to your Stunning Stars QAL. I've seen so few QALs this winter. Usually we're inundated with them but it doesn't seem like it this year.

  11. What a busy but fun year ahead. Will there be an option for us in the USA to donate to a local charity for the H2H-I just don't want to spend the $ for shipping, I'd rather buy more fabric!

  13. I made my starter list for 2017 last week with both The Hands to Help and the 12 Days of Christmas included. I just don't remember if I let you know that I'm planning on doing the 12 days or not. Just to be clear I'm IN.

  16. Should be a fun year. I love star quilts. I have two scrap quilt tops that can be finished for H2H and I will be working on a 3rd strip pieced one while in FL for a few weeks. And Christmas in July was a hit so I look forward to round 2. The new year is off to a good start.

  17. How do you organize your left over pieces of fabric. Goal this year to untangle a bag full of fabric cuts, what size do you toss out? Width of strips. Thanks. Vivian

  21. It all sounds great. I'd like to participate in one or more but I don't want to commit until I have a better idea of what my quilting time will look like this year.

  22. I love stars and can't wait to see your blocks.
Hope I can keep up. So many BOMs and QALs I want to do. I have a habit of spreading myself too thin.
