I May Have A Scrap Problem...

Hi, all!

Well, it's been a very busy couple of weeks, but I do have a little progress to share on my Long Time Gone quilt...

Lots of little triangle pieces...

...turned into these pretty triangle blocks for my quilt.

And on the design wall?

These beautifully scrappy blocks are being made by my Heart Builders team and some friends while we wait for kits and quilts - when it's a finished quilt we'll send it to Amanda at Stash Builder Box for her current charity!

And on another design wall - that of Sandra at Musings of a Menopausal Melon - I spotted this beautiful use of scraps!

This takes string quilts to a whole new level, I think!

Also found while surfing Instagram in the car...

There's beautiful scrappy inspiration everywhere!!

Hugs!

Sarah

  1. They are all lovely, specially the one with the crosses, or are they a plus sign? Super bright and colourful.

  2. Thank you for featuring my scrap quilt Sarah! I always give credit where credit is due so here is the link to the blog post from a little over 5 years ago: http://fabrictherapy.blogspot.ca/2012/03/tutorial-x-marks-block-free-pieced.html
Hers is pure unadulterated scrap but I wanted to give a wee bit of order which is why I am experimenting with doing opposing corners in one colour...jury's out as to whether I may have a problem of another kind...like a Rubic's cube where you get 5 of the 6 sides all done, only to discover the 6th is a hot mess!

  3. In the past, I've almost never used any scraps, but, this year, most of my stuff has been made with scraps. Strange how things happen some times.

  5. Sarah, I really like all those little triangles, although I think they'd drive me a little bonkers at the moment. I need big projects with so much going on this summer. Those cross blocks for charity will make a nice quilt for someone. Thanks for sharing all your finds. --Andrea

  8. I used Teresa Rawson's "X marks the spot" design for my 2017 H2H quilt, but I love Sandra's adaptation with the single color focus. Lots of scrappy inspiration which is a good thing since we have lots of scraps.

  10. Great inspiration this week, Sarah! I especially like the t-shirt quilt with extra scrappy bonus blocks. That would work well with some of my panels.
