Make-A-List Monday - Time For Some Fun!

Hi, all!

Well, after a quick week and a quicker weekend, we're back at Monday - and I've got some fun things I want to do this week!  But first, let's see how last week's list went...

1.  Finish those seat cushions!!!
DONE!!

That handsome fella in front is Hank - he's quite a character!

2.  Finish packing, and mail, all the H2H prizes.
Almost - I've still got the Canadian packages to go out, but hopefully I'll finish the customs forms on those tonight and can mail them tomorrow...

3.  Hem three pairs of pants for my husband.
Done!  It feels good to have these off the list, too!

4.  Clean the house before a quick weekend trip so the house sitter doesn't run away screaming!
Well, it wasn't perfect, but she did stay for the weekend!

5.  Keep working on the Long Time Gone quilt blocks.
Done!  I cut out all these little pieces for my triangle blocks today...

6.  Keep up with any quilt ministry needs that come up.
Whew - it seems like it's been a busy week for the quilt ministry!

This quilt went to a six-year old boy with inoperable brain cancer...

...and this one went to a middle-school girl whose grandmother was killed in a car accident.

This quilt went to a woman who had a stroke following back surgery...

...and this quilt went to a gentleman going through chemo treatments.

This quilt went to a young man who lost his arm in a tree-trimming accident...

...and this one went to a woman in the ICU on life support, dealing with sepsis.

Finally, this quilt went to a gentleman who had a bad fall and is in the ICU with several broken ribs and a punctured lung.

We gave away one more quilt, too, to a woman with ALS, but apparently I neglected to get a picture of that one.

So I managed to get to everything on the list, except those Canadian packages - and that will be a good place to start this week's list!

1.  Mail the last of the H2H packages.

2.  Start working on a Hipster Cat quilt for my eye doctor's office.

3.  Keep working on the Long Time Gone quilt.

4.  Work on the 12 Days of Christmas In July quilt-along quilt!

5.  Meet with a customer about a new t-shirt quilt commission.

6.  Keep up with any quilt ministry needs that come up.

I'm going to keep it simple this week - I really want to play a little bit, since I haven't had time to do that recently.  That Hipster Cat quilt should be a lot of fun!

So now the question is - - - what are YOU working on this week?

Hugs!

  1. What an amazing load of quilts to go out to those who need them. I managed one quilt to a man, a vet, who is battling colon cancer.

  2. Good for you, Sarah! You did almost everything! This week, no more quilting, I am just sewing a messenger bag.

  3. I'm playing catch up, after being gone for 2 weeks. I didn't have much time for sewing.

  6. Your quilt ministry is really spreading love to so many blessed souls! I just finished blocks for a crazy tula pink lap quilt. Before I sew them together though, I have to switch gears to make some mesh drawstring bags to use on our upcoming trip to Yellowstone! I did the prototype tonight!

  8. It breaks my heart to hear of the harsh things some of your recipients have experienced. I'm grateful for the love they get from your quilters and pray for ones receiving the quilts for healing and comfort.

  9. Praying for all the quilt recipients. Enjoy your playtime this week and get all your list taken care of. I think I will start making a list as well, maybe be held accountable and keeping the list in sight will help me accomplish more and be more organized.
That being said I need to go make this week's list.
    Hugs and Blessings

  10. That's a particularly lovely group of ministry quilts. Good thing, too, since it sounds like they were sorely needed this week!

I hope you have a fun week after working so hard lately on H2H :) I'm hoping to baste a couple of quilts this week and am in the middle of piecing two others. Why work on one project when you can have the chaos of 4-5 simultaneously??
