12 Days of Christmas in July Blog Hop and Quilt-Along, Day 5!

Hi, all!

Five days in to this year's 12 Days of Christmas in July Blog Hop - are you in the Christmas Spirit yet?

By the way, Elf is probably my favorite Christmas movie of all time....

Today we've got even more to get excited about, if the last four days haven't been enough to get your inner elf jumping up and down!  Kathy of Kathy's Kwilts and More will be sharing something special, and Selina of Selina Quilts will be bringing her first of two posts - because she had so many great ideas we couldn't limit her to just one post!

Here's the line-up once again...

Sunday, July 14th

Monday, July 15th

Tuesday, July 16th

Wednesday, July 17th

Thursday, July 18th

Friday, July 19th

Saturday, July 20th

Sunday, July 21st

Monday, July 22nd

Tuesday, July 23rd

Wednesday, July 24th

Thursday, July 25th

And remember, too, there's a giveaway!  FIGO Fabrics has donated a fat quarter bundle of their new Christmas line, Wintertide...

...and one lucky reader will get to take it home!  All you have to do is fill in the form below with your full name and email address (don't worry, I won't use it for anything beyond notifying you if you win!).  Entries will close on Tuesday, July 30th, and I'll announce the winner here on Wednesday, July 31st - New Year's Eve in July!

Be sure to click "Submit"!!

You get an entry for visiting the stops on the hop, too, so drop by each new day's blog posts, enjoy the post and leave a comment (comments make us happy!), then fill out the entry form on their blog too.  If their blog hop post doesn't have an entry form feel free to come back here and leave an entry after checking out their "gift" for you!

So get hopping, folks - then come back here to see today's step for the quilt-along...

It's time to make your fourth block - and the best thing I can say about that is "fourth verse, same as the first"!  I'm sure by now you are finding these blocks pretty simple to put together, and maybe you've even caught the "no one can eat just one-itis" that I have!  Here's how my medallion version is coming along...

And now I'm going to take my husband's suggestion.  You see, the internet at our house has been out pretty much 75% of the time since we returned from vacation on July 1st, and because of that I'm having to write these blogposts (several at a time) away from home, and I'm running out of witty things to say!  Yes, at one of my busiest blog times of the year, I'm having to do most of my blogging at Starbucks or McDonalds - because we live in a semi-rural part of the state, and can't get either cable internet or DSL.  I've upgraded my list of questions if I ever buy a new house - it will now include, top of the list, "How do you get your internet service?"  Ours is via satellite dish, which is notorious for being weather-sensitive, plus we have LOTS of trees in our yard, which means we are constantly at the mercy of tree growth, which can block line-of-sight from the dish to the satellite.

All of that to say, I'm sorry if the content of these posts isn't as scintillating as usual.  So I'm going home now to sew a little and relieve some stress and think of wonderful things to say tomorrow!

  1. So many cute items and tutorials again this year.

  2. The quilt is coming along beautifully. So, so sorry about the internet. We went down for about an hour a week ago and MJ acted like his world was ending. I can't imagine what down 75% of the time would be like. I'm sure he would have moved to a hotel by now. Good luck.

  3. So sorry about your internet. You are doing fantastically despite these problems! The quilt is coming along beautifully! Thanks so much for all you do. I always think of you as Amazing Sarah!

  4. Love the addition of the trees. I have a high speed direct line just for the computer - but that can go down at times too.

  5. No worries! Today's Blog Hoppers will say it for you.

  6. You're doing fine!!! How frustrating to be cut off from this wide world the internet makes possible for us! (and in the middle of a hop, too!) I love the addition of the trees!

  7. I am enjoying this blog hop. I don't know if I am the only one, but I don't see anything on Cloth and Paper Studio's website for today. The latest post is dated April 8, 2017. I did see a button for the blog hop on the right hand sidebar.

  8. Hi Sarah! Internet is sketchy at best even with a fiber connection. We are all now SO reliant on the internet - for work and fun - that when it is slowwwwwww we really notice it. I love all of your posts but I am sorry for your frustrations. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

  9. the internet is my connection to my sons and grands, they are military and it seems they are always on the move. I'd be crazy without emails and chats.
also my quilty connection, I have no friends that quilt. sew I find all of my quilting buddies on line.
your hops are always fabulous. sorry you are dealing with problems to bring us all of the greatness.
I also think of you as amazing Sarah. sending virtual hugs💗💗💗
