Hi, all!
Well, this week has flown by, but it's been nice for things to get back to normal. I've enjoyed spending time at my sewing machine! And now it's Friday and you know what that means - - - it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!!! Are you ready? Let's get started!
*&*&*&*&*&*&*
I have a niece getting married later this month, and when I saw Sam Hunter's new pattern, I knew it would be just perfect!
I mean, weddings are all about love, right? So I asked her what colors she liked, and true KSU alumni that she is, she promptly answered "Purple!" Of course, she said she liked those "neutral" purples... I got my daughter to help me decide what "neutral" purples were, and here's the end result!
This is such a fun and easy quilt to make! The cutting directions are spot-on and easy to follow, so that part didn't take long at all. And with only four blocks, it sews up quick and easy!
Quilting, though, was another thing. I spent a lot of time looking at it trying to figure out how to best quilt it, and actually started out intending to do graffiti quilting over the whole quilt.
But then I noticed the quilting on a small wall hanging I have hanging in my studio, and realized that I could quilt the background with straight lines to set it apart!
It seems appropriate for a wedding quilt, too...
...two people, each different, but coming together...
...to make something new and beautiful!
I love all the texture the quilting gives to the back - it looks so cuddly!
And here's one more shot, just for fun!
So - - - can I get a whoop whoop?
*&*&*&*&*&*&*
And now it's your turn!
What's got you whooping it up this week?
What's making you do a little happy dance?
Share! We want to dance right along with you,
And it's always more fun to dance with friends!
The party will stay open until Sunday midnight.
Hope to see you there!
Hugs!
Sarah
