Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Life Is Good!

Hi, all!

The end of the week has rolled around once again, and with it, time for us to do some whooping it up!  I hope you're ready - it's been a big week around here and I know I am!  Let's get started...

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

When I started this week I didn't think I'd be able to find anything "whoop-worthy" for this Friday's post.  Boy was I wrong!  First of all, in between all the packing and cleaning and decluttering I did this week, I found time to finish something...

I'm really loving this pretty top, and even more, the fact that it's made completely from 5" squares I cut from scraps and stash fabric (the border triangles).  This will be a wedding present, so there's a deadline - here's hoping that next week I'm whooping about a finished quilt!

And this may not look like much to you, but it has consumed much or our thoughts for the past few weeks as we waited for the day we closed on our new house.  We did that yesterday (easiest. closing. ever.) and once we finally owned the house, we went over to pull up some of the cheap vinyl plank floor that was covering what we were told was nice engineered hardwood.  We were so happy to see that it really is nice, a pretty color, and something we can live with.  So we are definitely whooping it up today!  Our plan for this weekend is to get all of the vinyl pulled up, stacked and counted so we can hopefully sell it to someone who needs a LOT of vinyl flooring, and reveal the wood floor in all of its glory.

So - - - can I get a whoop whoop?

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

And now it's your turn!

What's got you whooping it up this week?

What's making you do a little happy dance?

Share!  We want to dance right along with you,

And it's always more fun to dance with friends!

The party will stay open until Sunday midnight.

Hope to see you there!

Hugs!

Sarah

  4. I am amazed that you could finish a quilt top while doing everything you have to do to move! It looks great and so does that hardwood floor. We have hardwood under carpet and laminate flooring in our house. We were told it's not in great shape, so we haven't uncovered it yet, but we will someday when we have the time to refinish it.

  6. So glad the flooring turned out to be what you hoped for! So far this week I've ordered patterns for two graduation quilts and selected pattern & fabric for a valor quilt that I hope to cut this afternoon.

  7. I wonder why in heavens name anyone would cover that floor - it looks beautiful - I know some would cover with carpet as they want carpet but why cover up a good wood floor and it is so nice and shiny too like they washed it first :)

  9. Congratulations on your new house! Why would anyone cover those gorgeous floors - lol! Will you still be involved in your church quilt ministry after you move?

  11. Congratulations on your new home! I can't imagine why anyone would put that cheap flooring over such beautiful wood. Even if there is a bad spot somewhere, it would be better and probably cheaper to replace it than cover it all up. I'd be whooping too if I found that under my vinyl.

  13. That's a great quilt. You often forget that a simple pattern can end up being so striking. That's awesome for the flooring.

  15. Hi Sarah! That flooring reveal makes tears come to my eyes for you with happiness. That wood looks like it's in fabulous shape as well. Your quilt looks just like ribbons to me, interwoven with lots of love. Good luck getting that floor up without issue and finding the perfect vinyl buyer. Everything is going your way which is a great sign. {{Hugs}}} ~smile~ Roseanne

  16. Did you clean the wood floor section before you took the picture? I would think there would be glue residue on the flooring from the vinyl. We found hardwood floor under the ugly carpet in our house. It was worn in spots, but after refinishing, 100% better than the old carpet. Don't know how you found time to make a quilt in between all the other stuff. Have you determined when you will actually move in? And then, of course, you have to prep the old house for sale. Good thing you did all that painting.

  17. Your beautiful quilt will be so loved and treasured. The colors and placement remind me of the ocean. It feels like shadows and sunshine on a landscape.

How wonderful that you found a beautiful floor underneath. I do hope you sell the top layers. Someone will want it.
