12 Days of Christmas in July Blog Hop and Quilt-Along, Day 8!

Hi, all!

Wow, it's hard to believe we've been hopping for a full week now, isn't it?  So many great ideas are whirling around in my head, like snowflakes in a snow globe.

Shiny things are such a distraction, aren't they?  I want to drop everything right this minute and make some of these wonderful projects.  And we've got more today!  Tracie from Riceford Streams has a fabulous quilt to tempt you with, and Sharon from Vrooman's Quilts has generously come back again with a couple of fabulous quick projects.  I know you will just love them all!!

And remember, too, there's a giveaway!  FIGO Fabrics has donated a fat quarter bundle of their new Christmas line, Wintertide...

...and one lucky reader will get to take it home!  All you have to do is fill in the form below with your full name and email address (don't worry, I won't use it for anything beyond notifying you if you win!).  Entries will close on Tuesday, July 30th, and I'll announce the winner here on Wednesday, July 31st - New Year's Eve in July!

Be sure to click "Submit"!!

You get an entry for visiting the stops on the hop, too, so drop by each new day's blog posts, enjoy the post and leave a comment (comments make us happy!), then fill out the entry form on their blog too.  If their blog hop post doesn't have an entry form feel free to come back here and leave an entry after checking out their "gift" for you!

So get hopping, folks - then come back here to see today's step for the quilt-along...

*******

If you're managing to follow along with a block a day, you should be making your seventh block today.  Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of my versions at the seventh block, so I'm sharing a picture of what it looked like on my quilt frame.  I really dithered about how to quilt this top, but finally realized that I needed to just do it so I had a finished version to share.  I ended up doing what I call "girlie swirlies" on it, a tight swirl that comes to a point.  I think it played well with the starbursts on this fun grunge fabric!  It doesn't interfere with the design, just gives it an overall texture - and it's finished, which is the important part, right?

I'm still working on my borders...

...and I'm really hoping that I can get this medallion version finished completely by the end of the hop so I can share it with you all!  Keep your fingers crossed for me, ok?

Keep working on yours - a finished Christmas quilt for this year's holiday season is within your reach!

Hugs!

Sarah
