Hi, all!
The world has rotated seven times and Friday is back upon us again! I hope you've got something fun planned for this weekend - we are finally getting some cooler weather, so I'm going to just revel in it, maybe even drag out my sweaters!! But Friday means even more than that - it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on! So let's get started!
*&*&*&*&*&*&*
Remember those great project bags I found? Well, I think they have done something to me - because I currently have EIGHT projects going on simultaneously! No, wait - nine! And of course, that's the perfect time to add another project to the mix. I couldn't pass up the chance to join in this quilt-along...
This is Amy Smart's design, and the quilt-along is called the Patchwork Forest Quilt-Along. The first week was pulling your fabrics...
...and I found this great half yard bundle by Heather Ross I bought a couple of years ago and didn't use, so of course I had to start another project!
And so this went up on my Instagram feed! Amy's got some great sponsors lined up for each week of the QAL, and @sewtopia was hosting the first week's giveaway.
This week we were told to make the 28 small trees that go in the quilt. That sounded like a lot, but after a quick start...
...the sewing continued...
...until there was a veritable forest on my design wall! Aren't they adorable? And they sewed together so quickly, I was tempted to move on to the next section - but with eight more projects, I decided to move on to one of the others.
The anticipation should keep this project fun! The next step is announced next Wednesday, so I'll try to move the rest of the projects ahead between now and then.
Can I get a whoop whoop?
*&*&*&*&*&*&*
And now it's your turn!
What's got you whooping it up this week?
What's making you do a little happy dance?
Share! We want to dance right along with you,
And it's always more fun to dance with friends!
The party will stay open until Sunday midnight.
Hope to see you there!
Hugs!
Sarah
You sure can get a whoop--what a very modern and interesting forest! Glad it was fun!
ReplyDeleteNo worries on having so many projects going. Your 'make progress' plan seems to be working :-)
ReplyDeleteSo...I bought some of those bags except in the next size down. Wasn't sure where to actually put them as all the cupboards are full :-0 But I have one of those large kind of plastic bags...I just bought the new one from Bonnie Hunter...and they fit perfect in it keeping my sorted leftover collections or projects all organized. Kind of a fun idea! Thanks for sharing it :-)
Love your trees! I'd love to join in but time seems to be an issue in the fall. I might squeeze a few in here and there. One can always hope.
ReplyDeleteI was able to resist joining the Tree QAL, and after seeing them all popping up and your cute trees as well, I sure wish I had the time to participate. They look so fun!
ReplyDeleteI love that quilt!! You are off to a great start. Did. NOT. Need to know about the QAL!!!
ReplyDeleteA forest of scrappy happy little trees! How very Bob Ross :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah! Wait, what??!! Those trees are SO darn cute. I'm barely behind . . . right?! So I could still jump in. Have to order some new fabrics though - it could use it stash but what fun is that? Oooh, I have to check out the link. HAHA! Thanks for planting that seed of need. Happy Saturday! ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteI have been sorely tempted by the trees, too. So far, I'm holding out. ;)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the trees project. It's going to look great! (and good luck with the other 8 projects!)
ReplyDeleteLet's hear it for NEW-FOs! Your trees will be great in those fabrics!
